The Stock market and housing are still going up like everything is great out there. Why do I feel like I’m the only one that sees the cliff the economy is about to go over?

It's called normalcy bias, in other words it's something I sometimes hear people say, "We've had bad times in the past and it's always gotten better, we'll get over this." Thing is, no nation has ever survived with the kind of debt levels we have, the debt level is $35 trillion, that makes the debt level against GDP near 123%. I just heard that today the stock market took a 1,000 point drop. Instead of the brown stuff hitting the fan, they're going to have to use a huge ship propeller.

Econmically I see no way around a crash. The Zillion dollar question is, who will be in charge when it happens? Let’s be realistic here. If a socialist Dem is in charge, there is no doubt Venezuela is our future. Those in charge still eating and safe. Everyone else are going to suffer greatly. If the right Republican is in charge we will have big problems like the Great Depression, but WILL pull out of it in 10-15 years. I would certainly like to see Trump in charge as he honestly CARES about America and Americans! Even now with MILLIONS unemployed and millions not able to pay their bills, the Dems are DEMANDING free stuff and JOBS for illegals!!! Not only that, they are DEMANDING more 3rd worlders be a brought in to TAKE our JOBS!

This coming election is a vote FOR survival...or a vote to go down into extreme poverty.

PS. I don’t see a way for anyone to store enough food for 15 years. I could be wrong. Everyone needs to make sure they have enough land, seeds, decent soil and equipment to grow and raise your own food to survive. JMHO

Yes I believe that we'll see a serious economic downturn someday. How serious it will be depends upon who wins in 2020. I don't think there will be a "collaspe" anytime soon though. One thing that democrats have promised is if elected they will nationalize our 401k and IRA accounts.
Until there's a downturn I am taking advantage of the stock markets.

What you know you can’t provide make Local Connections now with farmers and others who you can get the items from. As far as meat? Rabbits are the best choice. They are quiet, easy to feed and produce a lot of meat. One Doe will give you 280# or more of meat a year. I raise New Zealand’s, but Californians are good too.

No one really knows when they will totally break the food system. They are working hard on it now. Those that I trust the most are saying next year. So many layers to our current system makes it complicated to break all at once.

Look for them to continue reducing the available fertilizer, therefore making the price skyrocket. Less fertilizer will dramatically reduce the harvests. Add to that a natural 2,000 year weather cycle, that we are entering now, and you can understand why there will be much less food. The food available will be much more expensive

I would very much advise a few nut trees in case your crops of other proteins do not do well that year. Buy Hazelnut trees. None of the other nut trees will produce soon enough. Get 3 year old Hazelnuts this winter/early spring and you will have nuts come next year! The best producing that don’t get the diseases which harm the trees and nuts are Jefferson, Eta, Yamhill and Theta. These all pollinate each other. If you only plant 2 types plant Jefferson (top producer with large nuts) and either Eta or Yamhill to pollinate. Order them early or you won’t get them. They are very popular. When you get them let me know and I will walk you through planting them. These are VERY easy to grow and care for!!

Too many carbs (yes the natural, off the vine ones) make me very sluggish and my digestion system doesn’t deal with it at all. O neg is the original carnivore blood type…which explains it.

A good portion of fertilizer was made by BASF in Germany. That came to an end when biden blew up the Nordstream pipeline, causing a huge increase in oil prices…and forcing BASF to move to China. The production there has been greatly curtailed. Last year other big makers of fertilizer also cut back on their production. It has already resulted in farmers not being able to apply as much fertilizer as they did in the past. It will get worse this next planting season as fertilizer production has not increased and any surplus has already been used.

Adapt 2030 with David Dubyne is a great source of information on the changing climate. We are in a 2,000 year cycle change. Like when parts of Africa were the most fertile and best growing areas in the world. Then when the climate changed (not because of humans) much of Africa turned into desert. North America will/is seeing a change in rainfall in different parts of our nation. Earthquakes as well as Volcanic Eruptions have already increased and will continue to do so. A red letter date he always emphasizes is Oct, 2024.

Open your eyes and THINK. Look around! Is ANYTHING good or better?

What do we make here in the US? Practically nothing! Drugs? None. / Food? Very little. / Clothing? Virtually nothing. / Appliances? None. / Furniture? None. / Automobiles? Few. / And on and on. So when I hear that manufacturing jobs have increased x%, I have to ask, JUST WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY MAKING?

Big retailers are closing tens of thousands of stores, & small businesses are closing due to high costs and legitimized shoplifting/theft. Shrinkflation and high prices are affecting existing products. Grocery prices are insane, and the lack of employees is stunning (cashiers at checkout, stock people, etc.) Many high tech companies are shedding thousands of employees. And it just goes on and on.

Housing prices are out of sight, mortgages are hard to get, interest rates and insurance costs are insane, as are prices for home contractors and service workers.

Call any companies customer service line ... you have to wait an incredibly long time to reach an agent, and when you do, you are faced with incompetence on a scale never imagined before.

Nothing works right anymore.
