I have been drunk 3 times in my life and very sick all 3 times. Stopped drinking any alcohol many decades
ago. Not even on special occasions now. No beer or hard drinks but don't even think about my coffee, that would a be a lethal mistake.

PS. I like the T-shirt.
I've been drunk many more than 3 times in my life.

You know how they say that a glass of wine a day is good for your heart?

I should be good until around--maybe--2060 or so.

I'm part Native American, and the tribe that I'm supposedly related to? 70% of them died off because of alcoholism.

High school grad party, got bombed and sick. Company party / BBQ got bombed and got sick.. My bachelor party, got bomber and got really sick. Last time I ever got even tipsy. Got nothing against those that drink and can handle it but I have known too many that qualified for the T-shirt. I hope you do make it to 2060. Way beyond my expiration date. LOL

yeah, what would be all the prepping good for, if You kill Yourself and/or the family in the bunker because of being mentally unprepared and act with violence and drugs. Therefore no drugs/alcohol and a developed stress reliefing behavior is a must to be prepped.

Well both my father and my step-father had alcohol problems and both were violent. I got 176 licks with a belt, one for each scratch on a chest of drawers I scratched,
(6 yrs. old) Had to hold matches in my fingertips till they went out, for playing with fire, (7 ). Got beaten with anything he could reach, shoes, cutting boards, switches...
My stepfather made me lie in my own pee for hours, after wetting the bed post getting beat up. (9-11 yrs.) He decided I was at fault when his stereo broke and beat me in the corner for 1/2 an hour,(15 yrs.) my oldest brother for 5 min and tried on the older brother, but he defended himself. We told our mom, END/FINAL. If he ever touches you or only one of us again, he will die at the hands of all three of us. After that he just got drunk and went to bed or went out somewhere. I left home at 17 anyway..GP

I'm sorry that you went through that.

Step father was alcoholic, tried that when I was 9-10. He backhanded me and knocked my on my butt. I got up lowered my head and charged him. Rammed my shoulder into his thigh, knocked him on his butt and then I went into the kitchen and got a big knife. He decided hitting me was not a good idea. He moved out shortly there after. I was not a very nice or placid little kid. At that point in time, I would fight at the drop of a hat and sometimes, I would drop the hat. Next step dad was a winner.

Thanks KL, I guess I got lucky that it only was minimal compared to many other things I have heard of. I saved my wife from her own parents when she was 20. That we even have a normal husband/wife relationship is a wonder. She hates men and anyone who even looks at her wrong never gets a second chance to even say hello. She will dance, laugh, hug and joke with anybody as long as they look her in the eyes and talk straight. You only get one chance with her, use it right. Guess I was her
"knight in faded armor"...Gary

What an utterly horrible man. I feel for you having to go through that.

I didn’t take a drink until 45 years old. Have never drank enough to get drunk. Lucky if I finish a drink actually. I always like to feel in total control of myself...but I do enjoy wine with dinner and a sweet martini once in awhile!

I will admit to having to spank my kids a couple time. BUT, in each case, I would sit down and look them in the eye and ask do they know why I am having to do this. They totally understand what it was about and it was not just violence.

On another front, I was in a Kroger and went around a corner and there was a little girl (maybe 6 or 7) looking as some toys. She then lifted up here shirt and placed a book under her shirt. When she looked up at me she was surprised that someone was there. I just shook my head no and pointed at my chest. She just said OOO and put the book back and ran off. I had to wonder where she got this from??? But, I think I know. That is child abuse.
