I once got hired a year after I turned in a application.
As far as finding that job in your chosen field or the field that you just spent time and money getting qualified for......it might be time to pivot towards something that is available now and get on with it.....the times they are a changing...
that makes little sense since you can never get a license if you don't work as an engineer. Once you have a license they will come looking for you. I got job offers even during the 2008 crash ( you have to work under some engineers before you are allowed to take the test for the license, at least in Florida it was like that)
I told him to at least try to get any job at a engineering company even if it is a construction job or paperwork, at least he gets his foot in the door.
Probably part of the problems is its winter, not much construction going on

Our oldest son is a electrical engineer. During college he worked on house and building construction crews...it paid off when he got hired at a engineering firm as they would send him out on jobs to trouble shoot and get right in and make things work..
He got tired of going to Hawaii and now is working with a long time friend in a small firm doing the jobs he likes in the electrical engineering field.

As far a working now I am a bit of a pessimist and think we are headed for something much worse than the 2007-2009 downturn.
I told our son he will always have a place here since he could run the solar system and build greenhouses....

that's what my husband did ( electrical engineer/rocket scientist) , he didn't need a license just top clearance

I sure hope son can find something and doesn't end up joining the military like daughter did....she already has 3 job offers for when she gets out ( aviation tech) hopefully in May

I'm home, had lunch, going to take a quick nap! Will bring firewood in the house, get my cleaning supplies ready for tomorrow, spend time with the critters. My truck overheated on the way home, so I'll look at it when it cools down!

Managed to bring in an armful or two of firewood this morning and put in a few hours of work. Just had lunch and now I'm fading fast, think I'll take a nap. Boss called me this morning and as soon as he heard me croaking said to take the day off.
Daughter is still here, thankfully, she'll be able to help me with more firewood. Blustery out there today, nice to be able to stay in by the stove.
