Great, I'm curious, it seems easy and good! Also having crayons in a BOB bag can be handy if you have to write something down!

I will always use my fire starting wafers for the same reason others may use candles or homemade fire starters. Every morning we start 4" logs to 6" splits with a single wafer, no kindling, no paper. About 7¢ per wafer.

Every year the local sports club would have a pancake breakfast as a fund raiser.. My job was to haul garbage for the kitchen.. I collected paper egg cartons and made them into fire starters with pine shavings pet bedding, candles, crayons and old craft wax.. It seemed I made thousands of them.. Worked well..

I make fire starters out of old egg cartons, wax and pine shavings. Each one burns for about 20 mins.

the long curl a with the grain cut from a sharp chainsaw wok well in pretty much any fire starter project. Similar to shavings but very thin and uniform.

We use those to start the fire in the house too. Since we burn 24/7 we don't use very many. The fire starters that I make I put in my every day carry pack and some in each vehicle. I've used them quite often for when I get stuck and have to walk home. They truly are life savers.
