I do not like driving at night any more,

I really don't like driving at night in the rain...
It's hard to see anything with all the glare of lights.

I am getting to where I refuse to do it.

:rolleyes:Yeah....I use to make fun about OLD people not able to drive at night... guess who's old now.:facepalm:

Jim

I'm the same way. Always have been. My night vision sucks!

Morning all! I hope the rains subside for you folks back east, but for us in California, this is suppose to be the wettest month of the year, but it has been record dry. We are gunna be in trouble with this fire season.

I don't see how there as are any forests left!

Good news on our little flood! The river is supposed to crest at 373.5. (according to latest guesstimate's) I don't believe it'll stop there cause it's at 373 right now with 5-8 inches of rain forecast by tomorrow night. All kinds of rain just North of us all night last night also. We got a break from it till this evening.

@havasu !
Hasn't rained for about 24 hours! It's supposed to start again in about an hour though like gangbusters. I got the rim joists and floor joists put up today. If it'll slack up some tomorrow I'll start putting the sub floor down. Finally on the way up!

woo hoo

Funny thing, for two winters my dad has complained about my sheppard dog, says he "chases the cows" when dad takes over rolls of hay to the rings.

Today dad was over with cows along with my dog. I finally got a return call from the county extension office. I took the scooter over to tell dad the news about ants.

I noticed something, my dog wasn’t just “chasing cows”. He was herding them. Most of the cows will hang out by the hay rings but 4 or 5 will wonder off a ways, 50 or 100 yards.

Today I watched my dog go after these individual cows, one at a time, and chase them back to the group. He’s a german sheppard doing what he was born to do! Not a nuisance! Dad just never took the time to watch what the dog was actually doing. He did this on his own, I didn't tell him too. It's just his nature.

He chased 5 stragglers back to the group and then shaped the group into a circle. It was amazing to watch when I figured out what he was doing. ;)

@gumpy Photos! Sounding good. Glad you've made it through the floods.
@Peanut Good dog! That is a cool story.

@Patchouli , I've got pictures in the construction thread. I'm documenting the whole process, mostly cause hopefully it's the last house I build.

P.S. The flooding is not over yet. We had a break today from the rain though!

You still up @gumpy or woke up like me?

Still up. Finished a 6 day round of steroids this morning. Had 3 steroid shots the night before I started the dose pack. I've had a few short naps during this time but none tonight so far. Sleep deprivation has given me a headache!

If it makes you all feel better, we got a boatload of rain, considering this is California. It actually filled a 1 gallon bucket I have at the end of my rain gutters. {big deal}

Gasp! You got a permit for collecting rain water? (meant to be a joke but in California it might not be a joke?)

Got my deer mount back yesterday,what a long day but I feel better now having my big brute back on the wall.

The Chiltons manual I ordered that was suppose to have "TOTAL maintenance, service, and repair information" didn't help a bit in helping me diagnose why the 4 wheel drive isn't working in the Ranger,it's like all the rest of the manuals I've had lately,they just tell you how to replace stuff not diagnose what's wrong in the first place,another $23 down the drain :mad:. I ordered another 1 today that's a Ford OEM manual that I emailed and asked about and he says it tells all about diagnosing problems from bumper to bumper and what tools you'll need to do it,it's suppose to be what the Ford Service garages use,we'll see.

I don't like driving at night, either. Terri, you're not old enough to say that!

My night vision has always been bad, even as a young kid. I've always relied on my animals when I have to go out at night.
