Over watering?...
In other news, the indoor seedlings are growing well but I need to pick up some fertilizer. I'm seeing some stems turn purplish pretty early, and the squash and pumpkins are starting to bleach to yellow. I'm not sure why I don't have any on hand, but I'll fix that soon.
Definitely not, I let them dry to wilting point before watering. They just need fed.Over watering?

if your apples work ,let me know how you did it. I have yet to plant and grow one successful fruit tree ( the ones we have were here already)well i went over my budget a bit...but it is what it is...i am glad to know fully where these funds go to someone i support his life mission of breeding apple varieties.....the black and red was $65 and hella kitty was $56. the black and red went as high as $137. some stuff went over $200 and last year some went over $300.
lets hope i can make the grafts correctly and not have a big cry in spring/summer....lol
if i get any other varieties through his store i will let yall know. but i have most items he has released i am interested in....i think.
those look great!! I grew white ones last year and yes, a lot of mine got eaten by bugs too . Got pest resistant hybrids this year, we'll seeSome of the cauliflower is ready. I need to start eating it before they rot from all the rain we've had. The last time I grew cauliflower it was the white variety, and the inside of the heads got icky, but these have been okay so far! I have a few of the broccoli on tap, too. View attachment 173089
Maybe I should transition my fig cuttings to sand.Update on my cloning attempts.
English Walnut
The cuttings in water showed two sprouts that soon wilted. No roots. They all look dead.
The sand based cuttings may be showing some buds swelling.
Seedless grape vines
Buds swelling on a few cuttings.
Olive trees
New growth on 2 of six cuttings.
Elderberry
Cuttings in water ate developing roots and leaves. Most going strong but a few have lost leaves.
Cuttings in sand are looking good and resisting when tugged indicating roots forming.

But even more exciting is sprouts coming up out of the sand! No wonder Elders have a repudiation of life.

So cloning in sand rather than water is in the lead.

Moist sand in a pot with a large zip lock bag covering them.Maybe I should transition my fig cuttings to sand.![]()
