I went over to a friends house and got to check out his plants. He bought clones this year instead of growing his own plants. Usually by this time of the season his plants are 10’ tall but the clones have been very disappointing for him. He usually harvests around 10 pounds of buds looks like he will be lucky to get 1/4 of that this year.

My mother and my father in law both have hip issues and neither one of them are the type of folks you would think would have anything to with marijuana but both use the creams and swear by them for pain. I decided to take a couple of ounces and try my hand at making some of the cream for them. I decarbed 2 ounces of buds and have it cooking down in the slow cooker. I should have a couple of quarts of cream for them in a few hours.

The funniest stuff happens when I don't have my glasses on 🤓. I read something about hemorrhoids and said, wait what?
That happens to me all the time.
I am a sentence-reader, not a word reader.:(
"Treats for your chickens" becomes 'Teats for your chickens':LOL:

I'd love to hear how well that salve works! Might be a good way for me to put up some pain-killing ointment, since I don't like Big Pharma products... ;)
The finger I got hacked off last week was throbbing I rubbed some of the salve on it and it took the pain away. I’m going to say it works.

@hashbrown as you continue on, try switching over to a higher quality oil. The “now” brand is ok, but I used to work in a retail herbs n supplements store and the owner said that brand is not a good quality. I thought it worked okay but using a different oil company I could tell the difference. A couple of other people told me the same as well. I’ve gotten some essential oils from mountain rose herbs and also from do terra and another company I forget the name of….just a thought. Bet it smells lovely

I’ll look around that’s just what I could grab in town.

I took my father in law a jar last night, he has a hip that needs replaced but has a heart condition that doesn’t allow for surgery at the moment. He called me about an hour later and said it was wonderful and was walking around the house pain free. I need to take my aunt a jar today she is in pain but I don’t know how receptive she will be to it. I’m afraid she will think it’s “dope” I’m not sure how to approach it with her but I’m quite sure it would help her. Any ideas how to get the Sunday school teacher to try the weed salve?

@hashbrown you could tell your Aunt it is a plant based home remedy you discovered. You could offer full disclosure after she sees the benefits. After all the CBD is not the part that gets you high. It certainly is no more dishonest than big pharma. At least you know what's in it.

I guess that’s right! Both of her sons are compete loadies. I figured she might be totally against it for that reason alone.

This looks like a good way to use whatever dope I grow... I know the time will come when I need a salve like this, lol. The lidocaine lotion and Tiger Balm only go so far in relieving pain from injuries. This salve looks like the ticket for killing pain... I won't have to choke down as much tequila either, lol.

@hashbrown . What do you mean, you decarbed the bud? Sorry for so many questions… you took buds, tossed in jars and covered with oil. Slow cooked the jars. Once cooked, for how long? Strained, added coconut oil and e. Oils. Do you have an approx amount of each? Or did you just wing it?

next question. When can you tell if you have male plants growing?

Decarbing is cooking the buds at 230 degrees to release the thc like smoking it so it can be absorbed. I’ll post a recipe in a few days when I get it where I want it. I grow inside so when I switch my lights from 18 hour of light to 12 hours of light 12 hours of dark they *** within a couple of weeks.
