I thought we had a thread about this subject, but I can't find it!! The cold weather, ice, snow are upon us! Are you ready? In my neck of the woods, we are just starting to get ready! The generators are ready, the log splitter is ready, got new hydraulic seals the end of last season. All of the chainsaws are ready but one! All got test runs on trees and branches that were down! We have several cords of wood ready to go!! We can't mess around with the firewood too much yet because of the high snake danger. We will thoroughly check the wood stove next week! Many of you are starting winter now, we may not see it for a while!!

We always "winterize" our cars. Make sure fluids are topped off, oil is changed, belts are sound. I have a Winter bag I throw in the trunk of my car with extra gloves, hats, scarves. I actually had to use it Hallowen night, so it is handy. We have extra bottles of Heet for the cars for when it gets really cold. I need to pick up extra salt for the driveway, so this is a good reminder.

Otherwise there isn't much else to do. We don't use any firewood. Nothing special has to be done to the house. I think we are ready to go.

I'm on a roll today. We know winter's coming because today is the first farmers market after 6 months of lettuce wilting heat. It's a nice 74 deg, and yes, I am wearing socks with my sandals and shorts. ;) :D
