This is a new app being rolled out by google to let to very accurately work out the viability and costs of installing solar panels on your roof. its a alogrithm that works with Google earth and other bits to show you the true costs and savings. its in beta form at the mo and is just being rolled out in america

I didn't need an app to help make my decision to go solar. There isn't any other option for me here. But I can see it being a handy tool for those who are considering going solar. Does this app also calculate the tax credits available for going solar? In the US it's currently 30% of the entire cost of the system, including construction, electrical, etc. That should be a good incentive for many people. Some states may have additional tax credits to help offset the cost too.
