So I finally managed to get some ginger going in a pot; when the weather turned cooler this week- we had frost- I took it inside to the kitchen windowsill. Its about a foot high, one stem and a few leaves forming.

Wondering what to do now without killing it? The pot is not huge - a big mug sized. Should I repot and keep inside, or leave it over the winter. Any advice appreciated!

Never tried to grow ginger but did keep turmeric alive for a couple of years. Both love heat and sunshine. My turmeric did poorly because it just didn't get enough sun. My latitude is 33.xxx. My growing season wasn't long enough for it to thrive.

To grow turmeric I needed a greenhouse with good lighting, an artificial climate. I'd think you'd need the same for ginger. I know @joel has been growing turmeric. Maybe he has better insights for being successful.
