Hello!
IN here, been raising chickens for several years, kunekune pigs for 2, gardening for years and years. Started wth 2.5 acres and added 8 more acres 2 years ago. We do everything by hand, since we're in too much debt to buy equipment (health emergencies and job issues do that). Our property addition has a burned down house, falling down barn and dumped trash everywhere. We clean as we are able, and have made quite a bit of progress. The goal is to put a house there in the next 5 years, we're currently renovating an old silo into an off grid cabin.
Homesteading is a means of survival for us, if we don't produce at least 50% of our food, it could tank us. We both work out of the home, homeschool 3 kids and keep on keepin' on! Happy to do this and happy to be here!

Nice! I think we finally got up to 18 today, enough to thaw the pipes!

welcome from SW Virginia! Your property sounds a lot like ours when we first got here. We still dont have enough equipment. We don't have a burnt down house, but we have no proper utilities . Good luck to you hope it works out!
