Good to see a man of knowledge! My pleasure... been a long time, retired in 87, was 10 RT Adder, CCN (VN); then spent the remainder in the 10th and Det A (Berlin) after 46th (Thailand). I am a member of the SOA (GL-1204)
I like, so many others, will be moving overseas to retire in the next 5-7 years.... lots of language skills and have visited many AO's so no big deal. Unbelievable that we can retire in a safe country, albeit, a little less developed than the USA, and live exceptionally well for 3-4K a year (with adequate saving to fly family to and fro).
I have a good go bag, lots of med stuff, and the usual other stuff. Any advice on these areas are always welcome.
I have lots of "Ringers" but have a hard time finding caths, tubing, and needles if you know of a source.
So tell me a little more about your site?
I am not into government overthrow, extremist views, or conspiracy theories. I am well educated and think that, although the will of the people, we are moving move into a socialist nation with serious infringements on our rights and freedoms. It is hard to swallow because my generation fought world wide to protect those in this trap and promote democracy and freedom (De Oppresso Liber).
That said, right or wrong, it seems to be the will of the people, mostly uneducated, uninformed, and entitled. As a true American, I will help change this by my votes but not rebellion. Unfortunately, the uninformed do not realize that the most powerful nations in world's history all collapsed when government became too big and entitlements out of control.
All that said, I am prepared to "bug out" if necessary. I can hunt, fish, and live on my own without Gov support or interference.
Hope this gives you a little insight about me and my philosophy.

I have no desire to move out of this country. The only other country I could blend in to is Germany.
I was active duty 1986 - 1990 - 3rd ID Schweinfurt, Germany; 1991 recalled for Desert Storm sent to 8th ID Mainz, Germany.
I am still trying to perfect my bug out/go bag. Just finished a small first aid kit for the wife's car. Now on to a bigger more advanced medical bag!
I am all ears. I am looking at taking an EMT course, as I strive to continue to learn.I speak fluent German, that said, it is an expensive country to retire in.
You bug out bag will NEVER be finished.....LMAO. Biggest issue there is how much weight can you still carry at your current age and condition. AND, is it designed for rescue or hiding.
Med bag, I can help you with that but it is all about your training on most trauma issues. You really have to have a handle on the 5 basic steps.
If a gun shot, most die because the medic never looked for the exit wound and they bleed out.
