Today I saved money by buying a near on 6 months supply of Tabatha the cats presription dried dental cat food by looking on eBay and found her food on special and then applied another 5 % off code to save $40.68 on the prices the local vets are charging here.

Yesterday we saved another $71.60 on 2 x 3 x 3.6 m tarps for our trailer by looking for specials and applying another 20 % off voucher code on Ebay over what the local stores are charging here.

Went to parents house retrieved turkey body to make turkey,vegetable,noodle soup.
So this will save on future meals.
Eating at home or at parents house.
Brought leftovers from their house to my house for several meals.
My dad thought it was funny that I wanted the remains of the turkey.
He thought I was going to dole it out to Strawberry, but she doesn't get people food.
Only what Estelle drops.Have enough turkey scraps for several pots of soup to eat and can.

Found flannel shirts at seventy percent off at $G, so bought hubby two....they were $3.75 each.....he needs them for winter.....but I had to pay full price for his Blue Bell ice cream....LOL....

Today I save approx $128.75 by looking at a friends blog and finding a really cheap importer who sells herbs, spices, bulk beans and yeast compared to local supermarket prices I usually pay.

I don't go black Friday shopping but needed a few things. It wasn't too bad out there. Got some dress trousers for $18, normally more than $50. Had same winter coat for more than 15 yrs so it was time.
I found the inner lining of a coat zipped out and lying on top of a rack of winter coats. It still had the security tag attached.

I was in the right place at the right time. Got 5 large pot knockout roses, 2 hanging basket plants, 2 small potted tea roses, and a satsuma tree (like tangerine). All for free as a fellow I know is closing his plant nursery. Free is the best price! My jeep looked like the Enchanted Forest! LOL

Fred Meyer's gives gas points on your purchases. when she gets a 2X or 4X points coupon she loads up on sales items and Lowe's gift cards. There is a maximum of $1/gallon off and 35 gallons/fill but you can go back as often as you have points left. I just filled my last two 15 gallon jugs and put the rest in the tank. I'll put the Sea-Bil in shortly. I'll top off my five gallon jugs next time I get a buck off then I'll cycle through it by filling the vehicles so as to keep fresh fuel in the containers.

All the money I saved by not battling the Black Friday crowds at the store I blew by shopping the sales on the net. I picked up a few boy toys, like FLIR and red dots.

Last week we saved by applying the home concession Qld Government Grant by filling out the forms at our solicitors office for our home as we are using it as our primary place of residence saving $3100 on stamp duty costs.

Today in light of DH having a flat battery and no jumper leads I purchased 2 sets of heavy duty 1200 amp 12/24V 6 mt long jumper lead sets off eBay, 1 for each car, saving $546.18 over purchasing them in the local auto stores. Now we have leads that will start anything .

Good idea, Sewing. We always keep jumper cables, tow straps, a few tools and a go bag in each vehicle. I put them in my adult kid's cars, too. In my car, I also keep a good pair of walking boots. Just in case I'm wearing shoes like I wear to work and I get stuck out on the road. I would hate to walk a long distance in the shoes I wear to work.

Bought bacon on a BOGO so only paid about $3 a pack. Bought 10 packs which should last a few months lol
Also grocery store had marinated pork roasts at $5 a piece which was $2 off. Also got a BOGO on some small packs of steakums both beef and chicken breast so I only paid $2 a pack. All this using the store card.
And I got 10 cents off a gallon of gas since I had over 100 points today with my store card, so that was $2.57/gallon and I filled my tank up on my toyota

Is that price a typo?? I've never paid more that $40 for heavy duty 10ft long jumper cables.

@Terri9630 no that is not a typo on the jumper lead savings and your 10ft is 3 metres instead of 6 metres which are the ones I purchased but I can truly see why the horror in your looking at our savings . See why I put off getting them for so long ?, as you just about have to mortgage your home to get a good set of jumper leads here.

Here is the auto store listing from one of our local shops and there are more expensive ones than this too that go up to $569 odd per pair but I have displayed the bottom of the range in these and they are 2 metres shorter as well -

@Terri9630 tell me about it the prices are completely nuts around here for everything and that is why I do a lot of internet shopping rather than purchasing from our local country town stores.

I recently ordered yeast for breadmaking from Melbourne and I am in Queensland as our yeast here in the supermarkets is $7.50 per 500g. I ordered 1 year's plus supply or 20 packets for $2.51 ea and our years herb & spice supplies and even with shipping on that order of $50 for a 17- 18kg box I saved $98.75 over buying it locally in the supermarkets here.

Sometimes you have to truly think laterally to save money especially when you live in small country towns here in Australia @Terri9630. It is quite common for me to put in orders for a years supply of things from major cities in Australia to get things at the right price as we are on pensions. @Tank-Girl also has the same problem as she lives in a relatively small country town too and that is why we compare notes on how to save on everyday items .

Even though we are moving shortly I saw most things that we use grocery wise on half price specials this week so I put in an order for staples we usually use, have used already, or items we want to increase our stockpile on to pick up on Saturday. I got $325.60 worth of groceries for $200 saving a total of $125.60 using one of my $40 off purchase e-vouchers combined with another $10 off purchase rewards points for buying what I usually buy and coupling that with half price specials which saved another $75.20. That is a huge 61.42% discount on our groceries.

I really am loving all the sales that are on at the moment and am taking full advantage of them as retail sales here are slow and they are reducing prices left right and centre if you know where to look.

Today we saved money by making a double batch of coconut choc chip biscuits and a homemade lemon cheesecake. We also picked up shave sticks for DH on a 15% off discount from our local pharmacy. Shave sticks for men are so hard to find it is ridiculous. You can by tubes of shave foam and aerosol gels and creams but the sticks are really hard to find and at the right price.

It's a round bar of soap specially formulated for shaving.
My dad used them and he prefered then to aerosol shave creme.

@backlash a shave stick is similar to what you are using for your shaving but instead of coming in a bar of soap in a mug it comes in a stick form of soap that is more compact to store. You wet your face rub a little of the shave stick on your face, grab a damp shave brush and rub in a circular motion and it all foams up ready for your shave with a razor. It is designed similarly to your soap to soften the beard and condition the face to make it easier to shave.

1 shave stick will last DH about a year instead of shave foam, gel only lasting a couple of goes so they are far more economical to use.
