thanks for the link

we live in a usually rainy area also but what will you do if it dries up? It' s been really dry here, which is unusual
normal for here is around 50 inches of rain a year, this year maybe 20 so far , no snow last winter either

Seriously? Water? I live in the friggin Desert! ;)

Will trade sand for water.

Basically we have about maaaybe two weeks stored water, then we die. Planning on one of those 275 gl totes but haven't taken action.

There is an old mine with an artesian spring a few miles away, but I'm not the only one who knows it, and it may have heavy metals. I want to test it but never have.

Do it. We bought two 275 gallon totes to put in the back of one of the Unimogs for our camper trailer adventures. They work great.

We paired them with 12V DC on-demand pumps and 1/2" garden hoses....for both refill and transfer to the camper tanks.

They are light enough when empty that a couple of people can move them around.

Two of us lifted them into the back of the Mog (which has a high tray).

The frames make them strong enough for mobile or static use.

I would suggest people pay the extra to get new food grade units.....because otherwise you don't really know what has been in them.

If you keep them out of the sun.....they would last for ever.

They don't take up much space when stuck in a corner of a garage/shed.
