That is the way I always heard it. I have owned several Ford products, and they were a mixed bag. The only real complaint I had was gas mileage. They never got anywhere near the mileage they advertised or posted on the car, but they were mechanically reliable. We had one Ford Taurus that was a lemon. It was actually given to us by my in-laws, a gift to the grandchildren. I know they put a transmission into it, and a few years later I had to replace the transmission again. I had a Thunderbird that was my mid-life crisis car. Good thing I didn't have that twenty years earlier, or I would have wrapped it around a tree. Fastest car I ever owned. Down side: everything was high performance, and expensive to fix. Other than that they all ran fine.
