Ya'll ever hear of a "flying jenny"? Same principle as above. A relative would cut down a tree leaving 4ft of stump. A steel rod or bolt would be fixed in the center of the stump. A 2 x 10, at least 18ft log was used, a hole drilled in the center. The plank went over the stump bolt and would get a lot of grease. Two kids would get on, one on each end. Other kids would start to push, turning the board into a horizontal propellar. Faster and faster, eventually one kid would go flying... Kids loved them, aside from the occasional broken bone, no worries. I remember riding them...

I’d completely forgotten about those!

A cousin had one. When the hole in the board got wallowed out it could double as a see-saw. A little bumpy but what could be better than a spinning see-saw? 🤣

@Supervisor42 That stump is cut too low. With a 4ft stump kids could push faster and duck when needed.
See-saws were also dangerous. Really long boards, no handles, and the heavy kid sends the light weight flying.
