Does anyone remember that Star Trek Next Gen episode where Wesley Crusher meets Ensign Robin Lefler?
She was way out of his league, but she was nice to him anyway.
Robin Lefler's Laws were a series of one hundred and two personal adages. "Every time I learn something essential," she explained, "I make up a law about it, so I never forget."
Her laws included:
#1. You can only count on yourself.
#12. Execution is nine-tenths of the job.
#17. When all else fails, do it yourself.
#29. The sightseeing's just as good on the way home.
#36. You gotta go with what works.
#46. Life isn't always fair.
#83. Whenever you've eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
#91. Always watch your back.
I'm guessing her numbering was based on their creation order, but obviously #91 needs to be in the top 10!
What are some observations/lessons/rules to live by you've learned from experience or from someone you respect that we might consider adding to our own info quivers?
