You see once you have the red dust of Africa on your boots it impossable to clean it of. Hi Garok - thanks for the tip? Let me agree with SuidWes - once you got the dust of Africa on your boots you are drawn magically to it. So it happend to me about 20 years ago.
And even if I would relocate to another continent - where to? So far I fail to find a place fulfilling all of above criterias you name. Lets look at South Africa and Namibia, we are about 5 nations away from any Ebola case, we are not a region in which famine occours, we got AIDS sort of in control (at least awarness is building up throughout the region) and genocidal warlords are EVERYWHERE once the SHTF and our biggest drawcard for staying is lots of space and remote areas to get out of harms way.

No offence taken - not at all! We all have a life to live and prepping is (besides a lifestyle) a way of being aware what happens around one. We never no when, where and how TSHTF and maybe living in our parts of the world was the worst choice I could make, but that could be true for any part of our world. If there would be the perfect place I guess everone would be there.
I wrote elsewere at ddpf that Southern Africa has a number of advantages ..... lots of open space, very low number of people per sqkm (not in the cities though), no natural disasters like tsunamis, earthquakes, tornados, hurricanes, vulcanos etc. The thing we have to look out for is rain - better the absence of it. To have access to water is the most important factor here.

Gazrok. Hey buddy. how r u. i have heard stories that when yellow stone will errupt that the whole world will be effected. But the the best place to be would be South Africa. And i have heard stories the the US government are very hard busy to try and get land and ground to bring the elite to Africa when that happens. O and have you heard about FEMA CAMPS. Please would you find out whst that is. What i can find out is that it is concentration camps built by the US and poeple would be thrown into it And i heard the would stsrt with US Preppers.
Morning Prepper Sa. I am good and you. ? anyway. You are right we would be rsther short on water. It would be a very great idea if you could find a place close to a river like the orange river that has water. Its situated very good and can always hide in mountains nearby. Its also so var vrom anything that nobody would ever find you.
Here in FL, our biggest threat is a hurricane. However, we're pretty inland, so really, we'd just see high winds and a lot of rain from most storms. Sometimes you'll hear about tornadoes here (usually from a severe storm or tropical one), but even those are usually only F1 or F2, so not too horrible.
Mostly, the storms have 3 issues. Power is usually out for hours. Rain is constant so halts activity. Wind can make some mess and pose threats to windows, etc. All 3 of these are pretty easy to mitigate.
My personal factor is that even though we are rural, we aren't THAT far from the Interstate, or from the outskirts of town. At least it isn't that large of a city, but still, in a SHTF scenario, we would see visitors fairly soon after folks flee the cities.
However, some big advantages include: no harsh winters (only a few days where near freezing temp), lots of rain (so water), excellent agricultural area, far enough away from any major nuke target or nuclear reactor, lots of available game nearby (fish, birds, snakes, frogs, rabbits, boars, possum, raccoons, etc.)
Been better, but not too bad.
More disagreement on that between scientists, than on global warming being a mankind-fueled issue, etc. So far, the leading experts aren't too concerned about a super eruption there, and the effects would largely depend on the degree of eruption, so nearly impossible to predict.
Not really in the government's interest to do so, but elites together, have likely made private arrangements for SHTF scenarios...or not, guess it would depend on the particular elite.
Be mindful of these claims. Sure, FEMA has supplies to create relief camps. How else would they do their function? But the "prison railroad cars" have been largely debunked. Granted, the camps could also be used to enact government emergency rule, but rural preppers would be the LAST ones rounded up, just from a sheer logistics standpoint. Even then, they'd more likely be conscripted to grow for the government, etc. While a government takeover is one doomsday scenario, most of the material out there is complete sensationalism and people trying to sell books and DVDs. Also, you'd have to consider that many soldiers just may disobey their orders if ordered to turn on civilians.

We have a prophet. a boer prophet. Now i swear by him and believe in him more then anything else. Anyway you could find it very easily onvthe net and you get the translated version of it to english.
He had a vision and more specifically one that stood out and he said that a time woild come that an order would come from the top and the US millitary would simply refuse to do itcand the whole military would basically turn "turn against the government structure. but u can just search on google and you would find him and his visions.
Anyway you and your country are very lucky to have the water you need to survive. Here its our main and FIRST thing to think of. Winters and summers is both to the extreme almkst. From very cold to 50°c in the shade.
You electricity problem is nothing compared to us. you have sometimes hours without power. Whe only have for a few hours power. Your wind is the bad thing but i thing if you sit down and reason logic into it i think yoj can navigate the problem very easy.
Did you know that the countries in the world that is currently in war today have a max of 14.7 pesons per day loss of life. South Africa is a country is peace and we have a 17.6 loss of life persons per day. More then half is white poeple every day. The situation litterally is not a question of if but only when is it my turn.
Our houses. Looks like follows.
Electric fencing.
Motion detection in my jard
a few dogs.
Steel gates and steel bars on all windows and doors.
Alarm system in our houses.
Steel gates in our houses infront of our sleeping room doors.
Our bathrooms is turned into "Gun safes.
The reason for that. is whencthey break in they usually put you in your bathroom and then empty your house. when they are done they come back. Rape allcthe womancand children and then kill the whole family. so when you are then thrown in your bathroom you can lock yourself in and they would thencneed explosives to open it.
We have emergency armed responce units.
We have nabourhood watch.
We sleep with fire arms under hour pillows.
And the f@cking sad thing is if he is in my house after he got through all the barriers. I am still not allowed to shoot him and the law clearly states the he has a right to be there. He must be the first to attack and only if he starts to kill your family you are allowed to shoot him but not a fatal shot.

Oh my God. That's crazy. Allowed or not of course, I'd shoot him and lie.
Here (in my State), we have what is called a "Stand Your Ground" law. Admittedly, it's vague and will likely soon be changed, but as it stands now, we have the right to use LETHAL force if we feel we are in danger. And that is ANYWHERE. But, can get dicey to PROVE that you were threatened. (For example, an ex-cop shot this one guy in a movie theater, during a small argument and killed the (unarmed) guy. Kind of hard to deny the video evidence which doesn't really support the idea the ex-cop was really in any danger)
If on our own property, pretty much Carte Blanche to shoot someone (legally). Though you better convince that Jury. Originally, such laws were to protect ranchers, etc., but extends to any private home. Even if they scale it back, we meet the definition, as long as we have a horse.
At least your place sounds pretty secure. Probably ensures they will go for easier pickings. I pretty much converted my bedroom closet to a gun safe, but really more to keep them safely away from any children visiting the house.
Oir bathrooms are converted into gunsafes but that is to keep me and my family safe. Not for guns. So i have a jail inside my house for me and my family. also a power point with food water and a cell permanently on charge for when you have to lock yourself in and sometimes days pass before someone would be looking for you.
The nice thing is that the towns and cities are really far from one another and yes they always go for the easy pickings. so our land offer real good protection if you can get out of the city in time.
Well here you do not shoot. Only if you "the victim" are prepared and made peace with jail and willing to loose everything only then you shoot.

Don't you worry, still here but life needs to be lived ..... stores need to be organised, veggie garden needs water and attention to weeds and all besides this money needs to come in, so work has priority - at least until TSHTF
