My Daughter's New House

My wife and I are buying a cabin in the mountains and right across the meadow, my daughter is buying a house. Her's is more of a fixer upper with more potential value when completed. Everything in the house comes with the house. Today, on our final walk through my daughter pried open a faux door under the house and separate from the storage room/garage. It was a little crawl way full of plastic five gallon containers. My daughter crawled under and got one open. It was full of MREs. There are 30 five gallon containers full of MREs this this house for us. What a windfall!

Don’t they have a relatively short life expectancy though? I was thinking like 3 to 5 years at best?

And yes, they are a lot better than the C rations I had to endure. Thank goodness for tobacco sauce…..

When my brother in law was an Army dentist, he gave us government issue MREs for Christmas "stocking stuffers." I liked them. But they were way too much food for me.

5 years depending upon the temperature they are stored at. I just fed my dogs a whole case of MRE main meals that were expired.

I had low expectations with MRE's I have purchased and I wasnt impressed with the results.
I got better results with Wayfarer food pouches, at least I know what I'm getting.
