@phideaux Jim I'll bet you're going to be amazed when you're done with all this healing. My mom has had both of hers done. It was a few years ago and she didn't hit the PT as hard as she should have, and other issues have weakened her, so she barely walks now. But she'd be on wheels if she didn't get them done. I'd bet if you do a good job with the PT and your weight stays good, you'll be like a new man...

Hi there. My name is Angie. I live out in the country but the city it creeping out and eating up the country. My main home was next door to a goat pasture that some years ago turned into a self storage business. None of the storage units get out of the fence. But I do live totally under large trees and love it. Currently I spend more time staying with my Mom so she can be in her home.

I love sewing, crocheting and have tried knitting. Trees, cabins with porches, and rolling hills with a stream are my favorites.

Oh, I’ve been a forum staff member since about 2004 or 2005, and since 2009 Admin on one or more forums. I think I’m addicted to forums and the members.

One story for you.
April 27, 2011 there was a massive out break of tornadoes here. I lost an Uncle and my Aunt ended up in hospital for a month. The whole TN valley lost power for 6 days. During this time I had a early netbook, a Verizon phone with email and data hot spot, and a Pontiac Vibe with an AC outlet in the dashboard. I used the car to charge the phone and netbook.
I was online every day with my forum family updating them as to conditions down here. Did Aunt’s FEMA and insurance work on that netbook, contacted family for Uncle’s funeral via email on cell phone as Data could get through but calls could not.

Welcome to all the newest members! Looking forward to reading your posts and learning from you.

I have lots to learn because I've been more of a primitive living skills enthusiast than anything (I have been called an aboriginal from time to time, lol). I mostly post in the hunting, fishing, survival, wild edibles & medicine threads...

We got hit that same day. No deaths in this immediate area, but several down near Chattanooga, and further North in Greenville. Our area has some thing like 1500 homes in it, every one but 4 sustained some damage. We lost 2 cars, the roof, siding, gutters on our home. Damage to our camper, and destroyed our garden, fruit trees. There was widespread damage in the whole area. Confirmed tornado 1 mile from the house. There was hail the size of a silver dollar piled up against our basement over 18" deep. Quite an evening for sure.

Jim, just curious, but what pain pills did they prescribe you?

I had a nerve block for first 18 hrs to knee, thats when I was up walking right away.

They started me ,day one, 20 mg Oxycodone , 2 every 4 hrs.(thats just too much )

Day three I went to 10 mg every 4 hrs, supplemented with 500 mg tylenol, and still at that level 10 days out.
Lots of ice packs, and elevated leg.

Have not experienced much pain at all.
Will stretch that out to 6 hrs , next week.

Gets a little tough when bending 2-3 times a day.

I'm walking 10 mins every hour, no problem. just SORE.

Jim

@SeventiesWreckers Would you please explain your avatar...thingy...photo...to me? I'm seeing things.
Is it a wind turbine on fire? A dragon with sticks? A llama with pokey things? An animal at all? I can't SEE IT right.

Edited.

Wind Turbine on fire. This one was over in the Netherlands.
