Been watching them on dvd now since we got rid of the paid tv. Old tv shows and old movies are 50 cents each at the pawnshop
We're getting quite the library now
Just picked up some Top Gear shows ( not old time but still entertaining)
I also listen to old radio shows on Radio Garden
Jack Benny, Burns and Allen, Bob Hope,The Whistler ( think thats the name lol) old Gunsmoke (before the tv show), Father knows Best ( before the tv show) Dragnet ( before the tv show)
There are some old tv show episodes on youtube. Just have to search for them

We were blessed with a great many wonderful TV shows. All of them wholesome, family entertainment. I'm sure my parents never had to worry, or monitor what we were watching.

I think my two favorite genres were the Westerns, and the Spy shows. Have Gun Will Travel, Maverick, The Rifleman. The Big Valley, The High Chapperal, Wyatt Earp, Cheyanne. The Man from Uncle may have been my all time favorite. I Spy, The Avengers, The Wild Wild West, Mission Impossible, To Catch a Thief. Loved them all.

I started watching this series on Amazon.

There would big warnings on that show today.

I have noticed that on MeTV there is a quick warning in the upper left corner of the screen (for some shows), warning about it's political incorrectness, lol. Not in those words, but you get the drift.

OK kids, What time is it?

I'm not sure but you gotta quit eating those brownies! ;)

Ok. So, who can plead 'not-guilty' to watching this mainstay?

Was anything cooler than the Bat-cave or the Batmobile?View attachment 62399

Batman was one of my favorites. I paraphrase many qoutes from that show today.

riddle me this Batman
Same bat channel same bat time
Insulated bat skivies

But I didn't mention it because I was restricting old to mean pre color TV (not that I would be sure which are color since we had A B&W TV until I was 18.).

But if we close down the end if "old TV" at the end of what????

"I Dream of Genie" and "Bewitched" have been mentioned so let me add

The Partridge Family
Good looking mom cool school bus and Susan Dey?

But let's not forget

The Brady Bunch
Father worked from home in a studio as big as my first floor
Mother had do anything, she had a maid
Greg was always COOL.
But MARCIA!!!!!

Even Jan lamented her saying "Marcia, Maria, Marcia"

I was a prepubescent male... So judge me.

This Los Angeles-based kid show was on every night 6:00-7:00 PM on KHJ-TV Channel 9’s CARTOON EXPRESS from 1954 to 1966. Dressed in a blue-striped engineer’s cap, overalls, red bandana and dark horn-rimmed glasses, Bill Stulla emceed the show, introduced cartoons and, best of all, played with model trains.

Bill invited two lucky kids – a boy and a girl – on the show to be “Junior Engineers” for the day. The winning names were drawn from a mailbag that was delivered by a passing train. The only admission requirement to the show was that a child had to build a model train. Once onboard the show, the kids helped Engineer Bill run his model trains and participate in the days activities.

One of the most popular features on the show was the “red light—green light” game. The rules were simple. “On the green you go; on the red light your stop. For no engineer would ever run on a red light.” The kids at home would get a glass of milk and follow Engineer Bill’s lead. I played along with Engineer Bill many a time with my glass of milk. If the off-screen announcer (usually “Freight Train Wayne” Thomas) said “Green Light!” then it was OK to take a sip of milk. If he said “Red Light!” you had to stop drinking.
