Olive Oil

I bought some fancy olive oil (graza) for people for Christmas.

I got one to try when the package arrives. I might infuse some of it if I can find a good recipe.

It's got two bottles, one for putting on things and the other for cooking.

We use it alot here, and once I swapped pheasant eggs with a person in Spain (by post) - he had an olive tree orchard and sent me olive oil in return!

I use olive oil, but I do not fry much. Some oils are being sold as olive oil when they are not, or are diluted with other oils. What a struggle to keep up with knowing what the real deal is or not.

And it has to say Extra Virgin on the label.

Olive oil is getting stupid expensive. We went from going to specialty oil and vinegar stores, to Trader Joes, to the gallon jugs at Walmart for $26, Pompelli or something. The "robust" version. Evetyone is being squeezed.

I switched to avocado oil because of issues of both price and how much fake olive oil is out there. I avoid seed oils like the plague.

Aldi’s had olive trees at the front registers today, and the hang tag showed fruitful trees. They looked a little too sad for me to take a chance on, but it might be an option for someone. I did not check the price, but probably wasn’t much. About 18 inches high.

I prefer olive oil. Someone told me canola oil is no good and also told me it could be what makes me sick when I eat out.
