loaded with .50cent coins! Not very realistic but definitely bad ass....
You should see what a scatter of 5 US pennies makes with a wristrocket. If only one hits you, it will leave a scar for life. I'll never forget the look on my uncles face as the first shot of the quail season went out of his 16 ga. He had forgotten the $100 dollar bill that was hidden in the barrel...as the paper fluttered to the ground, he had tears in his eyes. Picked up enough of it, took it to the bank and got a new one since he found more than 2/3 of the thing...

That’s one hell of a bad place to stash money!

I read a story about people stealing from the bread truck in MS near where I grew up.

I went to Walmart.com and placed my first online order for store pickup. My time slot is for tomorrow afternoon pickup due to the busy volume, but that’s still pretty good. Of course not a sheet of toilet paper is available and meats are in short supply but I was able to get a lot of items. Quite a few were out though. It was really easy to navigate the process online. I allready had a Walmart account as I have had stuff delivered before so that sped it up some too. Mainly I am pleased to not have to go inside the store for this. I will still wear gloves while out and be careful about putting things away after cleaning them. We weren’t really desperate for anything but my wife loves ice cream and since I’m worried about her not eating enough normally I’ll do my best to keep it in supply. I am really appreciative of the fact that we are fortunate enough to be able to to fulfill the frivolous things like ice cream and pretzels for her. I know there are many across the country, and world, that are struggling with finding the basics right now. Don’t ever to forget to appreciate what you do have in life and try not to dwell on what you don’t have.

Brent, my mother-in-law lived with us for a number of years following a stroke. Near the end, she refused to eat, EXCEPT for milkshakes. We would purchase the Highest Fat content Ice Cream we could find and mix it with Ensure and she lived on milkshakes for months. I think Ice Cream can be a "health" food in the right circumstances.

Her primary doctor said at least she is eating something! The fact it’s loaded with sugar is a plus too. It may not be a health food per say but at least it helps her keep some weight on. That conversation with him made me appreciate it for what it is. Sometimes the world isn’t perfect and you just make the best of what you have.

Hang in there :)

i just came back from dollar general. not even the tiniest piece of toilet paper. and a few boxs of kleenex.didn't see any paper towels.but they could of been on another aisle.and no bottled water.
HEB had plenty of bottled water today. That section was almost fully stocked. The frozen veggies section though was nearly empty and they had a limit of 4 packages. I planned on buying one pack of spinach but I got 3 and a pack of broccoli.

I read an article today that said the panic buying was over. It was from a ceo of some northern grocery chain. He said the supply chains had caught up and everything was fine now. Has anyone seen a fully stocked grocery yet? I’m getting to where I don’t believe a word the govt is putting out now.

Agree 100% with you, but for competely different reasons.

This COVID-19 thing is costing huge amounts of money and is--evidentally--destroying our economy.

My problem is (just like the Great Depression) that war is an excellent way to fix the economy.

WWII pulled us out of the Depression, the Vietnam War helped with our recession, and so on.

This is why I laugh at academic jerk-offs who talk about primitive societies that sacrifice virgins on alters to assure prosperity and good fortune for the next year.

Human sacrifice? Of young people? For prosperity? How obscene! How backward!

Yet . . . how is us taking advantage of war--knowing that thousands of young people will die--to ensure economic prosperity all that different?

I hate hypocrites.

That only applies to people that were crazy enough to bring them into the home in the first place! I’m not doing any thing illegal, immoral or otherwise nefarious but why would anyone ever want to be monitored all the time? Bizarre

Smart phones have the same technology built into them, but you can turn off the feature that is "supposed" to be listening at all times. I sometimes wonder if it's really "off" though.

Yes, if they really want to listen or watch you they sure can turn them on to do so. It won’t look like it’s on.

I doubt most people understand the backlash to Alexa. But even your phone can be hooked into. Spent some years doing something similar, was through the court system signed by judges.

And this is why I have a dumb phone and dumb TV. . . but yet my husband brought one of those newer TVs into his area at the house. I am sure it can listen to whatever is said, but its not like I am up to no good. I just hate that it can probably listen to what is going on.

I hear you! It’s not like they can watch everyone. They can listen. I’m sure they don’t do it to all.

I’m certain the powers that be are able to turn it on if they want even when you have it off.
