This “Chip Kit” gave me a good laugh this morning. I used to fly with this as part of my carry-on luggage. Can you imagine trying to get this past a TSA screener today?
Waaay back in the day… catscans and mri’s were repaired at component level on circuit boards… resistors, capacitors, even chips. Chip Kits contained components with high failure rates.
This is just a plain old fishing tackle box with foam glued into the pockets. I actually have two of these. This one was for older model Catscans the other was for newer model CT’s and MRI’s. If I were sent to Denver or Pittsburg or where ever to repair a system I’d take the appropriate Chip Kit with me... And hope I had what was needed in my kit.
