Washinton state built a highway interchange out in the boonies off a 2 lane state road. They put in sidewalks, traffic lights and crosswalks with walk don't walk lights. The sidewalks are about 100' long and just end. There are no houses or businesses within a couple of miles. I never saw anyone walking anywhere near it.
The cost was $52 million, if I remember correctly.
It was paid for with a 5 cent gas tax increase so they had a sign that said: "It's your nickel, watch it work." I would bet some congress critter made a lot of money on that deal.

My new chicken run.
You don't think the chickens will be able to get out of that?

I had a cousin who died 5 years ago from colon cancer. This was one of his cows and her calf. His wife was a h.s. classmate of mine and still lives on their home place. I believe she is leasing the land now.

That Momma looks like she is just daring you to get close. I wouldn't.

Funny story about Kentucky. A 90 year old woman from West Virginia was hospitalized after a fall. After several days recovering, she was ready to be released. While signing all of her paperwork, the nurse asked her how her stay was. The patient replied that she had never felt in better hands. The staff was attentive, the bed was more than comfortable, she had a hundred more channel on the TV than at home and the food was wonderful. Except for that Kentucky jelly. It had no taste at all and left a film on her dentures.QUOTE="phideaux, post: 243732, member: 13"]

Awesome pic. My family used to own a ranch outside of Liberty Hill Texas, about 35 miles West of Jarrell TX. There was a massive F5 tornado in Jarrell in 1997 that killed 28 people and nearly destroyed the entire town. Some time around 2005 I found a Chevy Love pickup truck back in our woods with a twenty foot cedar tree growing through it. That truck flew at least 35 miles to our place from a junkyard outhside of Jarrell.
