Hey @TeeJ Your photo is so large it was causing the whole page not to load for me. It was 8MB in size, here it is at about 1/13th of that size. Still looks the same... If you want copy this one, save it then edit your post and replace the big one. Very large files are a prob sometimes for for folks with slow internet service. :)

My bad! Usually Google condenses them for me when it saves them, I'll make sure I don't become a bandwidth hog again!

No worries, I have satellite internet which is a lot slower than cable etc. Big files sometimes brings my viewing to a crawl. I waited 5 min for your photo to load. I use a free photo program - Gimp. I resize almost everything I post. It's quick. These days camera's take huge photos, far larger than most folks would ever need. :)

That reminds me that I need to install GIMP on my laptop. Mouse isn't working on my desktop and I need to figure out why.

@zannej those are some good lookin Redbone hounds. Figure out where they came from yet?

Sabine Pass TX... These are 3 shallow water jack up oil drilling rigs. Each has different types of legs. I've been on a few of these while operating off shore. They are used on the continental shelf along the gulf coast. Looks like these are moth balled or being refurbed.

5 letter word for why they aren't drilling? b-i-d-e-n

They could also be ridgeless ridgebacks. A friend has a coon hound and gets asked frequently if her dog is a ridgeback.

Try these steps, in more or less this order, checking mouse operation before moving on to the next step
  1. First determine if the mouse is totally non-function, or if only specific things are not working - e.g., only on button works, only the scrool wheel doesn't work, etc.
  2. If USB mouse, unplug and re-plug USB (for a wireless mouse, that would be the little USB dongle that plugs into the computer USB port)
  3. Try a different USB port on the misbehaving computer - you don't want to "waste" a USB 3 port on a mouse, but that would be a good test because a USB 3 port would be on a different controller than a USB 2 port
  4. Change batteries in the mouse
  5. Reboot computer, especially if it is Windows
  6. Try your misbehaving mouse on a different computer and see if it works there
  7. Try a different mouse on the problem computer, preferably same technology as the misbehaving one: USB if USB, PS/2 if PS/2
  8. Boot your computer with a Linux Live CD and see if your mouse works with a different operating system
Doing these steps in order should give you a pretty good feel if it is mouse related, computer hardware related, or Operating System/driver related.

Those are hunting dawgs. well, sometimes. I have been deer hunting and they chase rabbits and I go rabbit hunting and the chase deer or chase each other. LOL check the battery in your mouse. if it has one

I thinned out these backberry bushes a bit with the hedge trimmer, but they are such a tangle and I really want to just take a lawnmower and mow them down but they are thick. Can't really see much progress on them, but I mostly trimmed back ones closer to the house. Got some small chickentrees growing up that the hedge trimer couldn't put a dent it.

Even with full-length winter pants the thorns got me:

The mouse was recently charged & battery is fine. It works on my laptop. I have removed the dongle (takes pliers) and put it in different ports. I have also installed USB drivers again and rebooted multiple times. It is being persnickety. But I will try again during daylight.

Do other USB devices work in this computer? Say, a thumbdrive? Trying to figure out if it is specific to the mouse, or a general USB failure for everything.

If you have USB ports on both the front and the back of your computer, try both. Often times, but not always, front and back ports are attached to different motherboard headers and/or controllers.

If you are plugging the mouse into a USB hub, try getting rid of the hub for testing purposes, and plugging directly into the computer port.

USB ports only working on the back. The cats pissed in the ones on the top. Other corded USB stuff works and the wireless adapter works. Not sure why the mouse is being pissy. I'll have to mess with it when I feel like it. My whole body aches from dealing with the blackberry bushes and I'm still not done with those sorry sobs. I love blackberries themselves, but these vines are the bane of my existence. I managed to knock some of them out today but got overheated. I want the cooler weather back. LOL.

I have a tray that has USB ports that is attached to my computer so I can have my keyboard closer. I might move the USB dongle for the mouse back over to it and see if it works. It was working in that spot before.

Can't take any more pics until I clear off pics from my phone. Out of space. I need to transfer my pics over to my computer.

My progress on cutting the blackberry weeds today. Took some Fisker shears to get some of the thicker ones but even they couldn't cut the damn chickentrees and some of the thicker weeds. I lack the arm/hand strength for that. May need the chainsaw for some of it. I had my brother take pics as my camera app on my phone keeps shutting down and my phone ran out of battery and is charging.

I had to bend some of the thicker chickentree thingies and step on them and then use shears to cut them off. We really need to get the trash cleaned up (by "we" I guess I mean "I" because my brother won't help). I will see if I can get someone to help me haul the branches/tree pieces, old dishwasher, and the old hot tub out to another area. I need to get more landscaping tarp to put down to prevent weeds from growing back up. I eventually want to build a small landing outside of both doors and have proper steps to the back door.
At least I can visibly see the progress. A bunch of the weeds still standing have actually been cut off but they are all tangled up and hanging on each other so they are up.

Any recommendations for the right type of rake to drag them off? Plastic fan type or metal?

I have a hard time finding thick gloves. Garden section had crappy thin gloves. But I will try a metal rake. I may try chopping them in to finer pieces and getting them in a barrel/trash can to haul off and dump. Too bad I can't get my friend's gardener to come out. Dude owes me $30+ for breaking my rake (used it without my permission when it was over at my friend's house). Friend had it on his porch to see if we could fix it but after the guy came back it disappeared.

I wish it was safe to burn stuff so close to the house, but I wouldn't dare try that. Especially since there used to be a as canister for gas stove in that area and I think there is still a grease pit in there somewhere.

I held the puppies on my lap and got my brother to take pics:

Male was in my lap in 1st pic. Female in my lap in 2nd.

I despertely need a haircut.

I used a metal rake but toward the end it broke (handle came off). I tried to get it back on but hands are sore and not cooperating. Maybe another time. But, after almost 3 hours I did manage to get the weeds down for the most part. Still need to haul off trash and cut down those thorny trees. They have sharp hard thorns. No closeup pics of the offensive trees. My brother was in a bad mood and would only take these 2 pics.
Pile of the vines once I got them all rolled up together:
