Chicken killing: Grab the chicken by the legs, tie them up, bring to the tree, tie to the tree. The chicken is hanging upside down at this point, with blood rushing to it's head. it goes to sleep. With a sharp blade, cut the neck and let it bleed. Then pluck. Repeat the same for turkey, but before the neck is cut, drape with a garbage bag or gunny sack. The last moments of bleeding, the wing flapping goes nuts and you will look like Dexter if you are too close. Then pluck.

Standard chicken processing going back ages... you snap the chickens neck. You cut off the head and hang them upside down to drain the blood... then you pluck.

I remember a few years ago there was a big outrage from the animal rights people.
Queen Elizabeth was on a pheasant hunt and a dog brought her a bird that wasn't dead.
She calmly and expertly wrung it's neck.
People went nuts.

Queen 'killed bird with bare hands'

The Duke of York also enjoys pheasant shooting

Animal rights campaigners have criticised the Queen after she was photographed wringing the neck of a wounded pheasant at Sandringham House in Norfolk.

She was watching the first pheasant shoot of the year on Saturday when a Labrador brought her the injured bird. She took it from the dog's mouth and used bare hands to kill it.

A freelance photographer captured the moment on film.

The Queen has not shied away from taking part in country sports

The Palace has said her actions were not cruel and she was merely ending the bird's suffering.

"It was clearly the most effective and humane way of despatching the injured bird," said a spokesman.

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth has delivered a silent rebuke to animal rights activists who objected to her killing a wounded game bird with her bare hands.

A day after she was criticized for wringing the neck of a pheasant that had been peppered with shot, the queen went to church on Sunday wearing pheasant feathers in her hat.

We use the 12 gage for turkeys.

Good on Queen Elizabeth I say . Where the heck do the Animal rights activists think we get our food from ?, that farmers wait for 3 years for their chickens to cark it in front of them and then process them ?.

I think all the animal rights activists around here are vegan. That means more meat for us. I think they eat too much soy product. That can't be good for you. I've actually had people tell me that when their hens get old, they go to a friend's farm to live out their long, old life. You know that doesn't happen on the farm.

@havasu Last time I was in Paris... '97 I think. I'm sure everything has changed except the locals still hate americans... I was there the entire month of august. I did like the subway system... take you any where you need to go.

I do remember... order anything but beef for a meal. There is a reason the french are known the world over for their sauces. They can't cook a piece of beef if the instructions were branded on both sides of a ribeye. They came up with all the fancy sauces to cover up their mistakes!
