Don't know, don't care, I have reentered everything and backed it up this time
The computer is a 15 some year old HP I bought refurbished for like $50 about 15 years ago. I am not even going to try fixing it daughter can fix computers , she could probably fix it, but this one is not worth it. Not sure what else was on there I might need, all the previous tax stuff is printed out before we sent it to the accountant

My local PC shop can yank info from a busted drive and put it on another for 50$
YYY...?!?

If you know what type of hard drive is inside the laptop you can have your daughter take it out and use an inexpensive transfer case to transfer the data to another drive. We had to do this for Mom's computer and for mine a few times to upgrade to better SSD drives.

I bought the wrong size cinch rings for fixing my plumbing and had to make a trip to the hardware store this morning. Then I realized that the fitting I was trying to connect to was 3/4" to 1/2" and I thought it was all 3/4" so I got the wrong adapters. Fortunately I dug up 1/2" elbow fitting I could use. Hopefully it will hold.

Gonna suck cleaning the toilet in Mom's bathroom. It got pretty nasty with my brother using it.

My chronic fatigue has been hitting me again so I'm going to need a nap soon.

I like cats, however…
This street has now become like a carnival for cats. There are too many intact male cats in this neighborhood. Small young cats pregnant. I’m sure some of these are stray and a couple of them feral. The local shelter is full, so they say. I see a new cat almost every day.
I’m not asking for advice. Our dog tolerates one cat. Our cat doesn’t tolerate other cats. They are both seniors and should be collecting social security.

It happens FAST!! If you live in city limits, they should help!!

On my trip to Jerusalem I was surprised how many cats were there. Under every bush everywhere. I was passing a dumpster and there were a half dozen cats walking on the upper edge of the dumpster. I looked in wondering what was so interesting in the dumpster.

Cue the scary Alfred Hitchcock music...

The dumpster was a writhing mass of hundreds of cats! Creepy!

@Pearl We haven’t seen most of them around here but I think they’re drawn here for all the partying.
The small pregnant one isn’t shy!
I’ll try to talk to the city shelter people. They have helped out when there are dog issues.
Out here the the population naturally stays low! Very sad, but necessary! I hate to see critters suffering! There aren't enough predators in town!🙁

Birth control pills and a pound of funky, cheap hamburger.

Antifreeze?
I hope this is a joke, although it's not funny. If you've ever seen what antifreeze does to animals it's not something you'd ever want to see again unless you were a very sick hateful individual who enjoyed seeing animals suffer horribly. Not only is it a horrible way for them to die, it is illegal. to do it. Animal cruelty.

My friend's wife's dogs were poisoned by a creep in their trailer park area. That sick bastard enjoyed torturing and killing animals. Particularly other people's pets. He would go over in other people's yards and slip poison to their pets. There was a whole kennel full of puppies and he went over and fed them poison. He went over and put antifreeze in a water bowl and fed it to my friend's dogs. It took them more than 12hrs to die. I watched them having horrible convulsions. They were seizing, yelping, and spewing out blood. The vet only treated one of them but she still died and then the other one died a few hours later. Those poor dogs were in pain and it boils my blood to this day. I seriously spent months trying to plot how to kill him and not get caught or have my friends get blamed for it.

Of course it was a joke. I think that at least some antifreeze manufacturers started adding something to their formula that tastes bad to animals. If they did that would help.
There are some seriously sick people out there.
I don't like using poison for anything other than mice and gophers. I have poison bait stations in all of our buildings. The mice have caused a lot of damage to wiring in our vehicles. Gophers do a lot of damage in the garden and orchard.

do you know how to turn off automatic updates on windows 11?

How can I open Advanced System Settings?

Below are 2 quick ways to open the Advanced System Properties/ Settings in Windows:

1. Using the Run Dialog Box

  1. Before you can use Advanced System Settings to tweak and speed up your device, you need to know how to access this menu. A quick method is through the Run dialog.
  2. 1. Press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard to open the Run dialog.
  3. 2. Type sysdm.cpl in the text box.

  • 3. Press Enter on your keyboard.
  • 4. The System Properties menu will open.
  • 5. Navigate to the Advanced tab.

Here, you will be provided with Performance settings, User Profiles settings, and Startup & recovery settings.

Inside the Performance settings, you can tweak your visual elements which can slow down your computer sometimes. By adjusting your settings for the best performance, you will be able to have a better and faster user experience.

Under the User Profile settings, you will be able to see your profiles and copy them or change their type.

Inside the Startup and Recovery settings section, you can change what your PC will do after a system failure, such as automatically restarting itself.

That's a relief. It's hard to tell on the internet when you can't see facial expressions and hear people's tone. Plus I admit that I still get enraged thinking about that sicko murdering all those poor animals. Particularly thinking about my friend sobbing so much while watching her dogs in agony. Vet was closed & she couldn't afford to take them to emergency clinic. That clinic is worthless anyway. The cops couldn't do anything about him even though he actually threatened to kill people. The cops were furious with him but the DA declined to press charges for some reason.

I have a minor complaint about the bipolar weather. Freezing last week and now it feels too warm and I have fans on. LOL.

Maybe i need to learn how to use those emoji things for when I'm joking. A couple of years ago our dogs ate a whole box of mouse and rat poison. One of the mutts jumped up on my work bench and climbed up on the window sill to get it. When I found out what they did I gave each dog a shot of peroxide to get them to puke it up. They did and where just fine.
