Eminent domain says you don't own the land of government wants it backI own the land I'm on, I also lease some land from the Forest Service. I don't see any inequity or wars, or terrorism around here. Not sure where your from that has all those bad things happening, but everything looks pretty good from where I'm sitting.
If you can get away with squatting on land that doesn't belong to you, go for it.

Oh I will.There is no public domain lands that are open to homesteading now days. As far as BLM and Forest Service lands go, they have a 14 day camping limit. In some areas it allowable to live on an
un-patented mining claim, but only in remote areas and only if you're actively mining. Alaska has their version of homesteading, but it's generally in locations that really isn't good for farming. But it might be worth checking out.
