I own the land I'm on, I also lease some land from the Forest Service. I don't see any inequity or wars, or terrorism around here. Not sure where your from that has all those bad things happening, but everything looks pretty good from where I'm sitting.
If you can get away with squatting on land that doesn't belong to you, go for it.

Eminent domain says you don't own the land of government wants it back .
And what I described is happening all over the world.
But nevermind.
I see your not going to acknowledge that you don't own the planet or the beings (creatures) that squat on your land. Or the fact that your participation in the system of real estate supports the larger generational terrorism it maintains.

There is no public domain lands that are open to homesteading now days. As far as BLM and Forest Service lands go, they have a 14 day camping limit. In some areas it allowable to live on an
un-patented mining claim, but only in remote areas and only if you're actively mining. Alaska has their version of homesteading, but it's generally in locations that really isn't good for farming. But it might be worth checking out.

. . .lol all I will say is that anyone with actual spiritual depth and understanding knows that none of us own the planet or it's many life forms that are responsible for keeping huemanity alive.
There is no "elite" class.
. . .but nevermind. Keep believing in the lie that a small hueman can own the very thing that maintains your existence.
So you can be a lesser participant in the centuries old, non stop real estate wars that end up costing actual human lives .
