Since I'm too lazy to go through the last 2 or 3 pages of (part 1), I am starting a new "Rant of the Day" thread.

Please leave the political out of this thread.

Also, you can go to the other thread and use the +quote to capture a post to use in this thread if necessary. But unless it's nice, please don't bother, as it will save us time from deleting it and the fuss it causes.

Thanks gang.

I dislike car bright lights not being lowered to regular as you approach the oncoming vehicle. It hurts my eyes, and I have to look to the edge of the road to keep the direct brightness from blinding me.

(My Nissan Kicks have the feature that when my headlights are on bright, they detect enough light from street lights, oncoming cars, or the like, they dim themselves, and they brighten when I'm back out in a darker area. Darndest thing ever.)

I have that in my year old Lexus, but haven't figured out how to turn it on. My rant is the 4" thick owner's manual that we need to read when buying a new car.
You are fortunate.
I am angry when I buy something complicated, dig thru the package looking for instructions, and only find a note with a silly square on it and the message: "Please scan this QR code to see all the information that we are too lazy to send you.🤪".
For those of us without a silly/smartphone, what are we supposed to do?

I recently bought a $6000 motorized kayak. It didn't come with a owners manual or instruction manual. You're supposed to download the manual off the internet and print it! I don't have a GD printer! So I'll have to go to the library in town to print it. How much money did the manufacturer save by not including a manual?

My headlights burn out in less than 2 years and require some dismantling of the car to replace!! My auto repair guys have been treating me very well though so I can stop being a PITA to a couple of different people and take it to my repair guys.
Yes, @Swing same thing for me on bright headlights most of the time.
I wish I knew how to make it so my daytime running lights don’t come on unless I want them on (cloudy days).

we bought a used 2014 honda a couple of years ago....I had to go on ebay and buy a 70$ manual just to figure stuff out. At least there was still a paper manual available...
What?! You mean you didn't just scan the code in the glove-compartment?!:eyeballs:

We had 2 Keurigs, a K cup & a regular coffee pot. My wife saw that they made 1 maker that would do both things. Her idea was to save counter space & replace what we had with the new maker, which we did. The problem is that it has 1 water reservoir, which makes 12 cups of coffee. I make that pot when I get up. So far, so good. The problem is that she make single cups of coffee, tea, coco & also uses it to make cups of soup. Basically, any time she makes a hot drink she uses it. That means that it seems like every time I walk through the kitchen, I have to add water to it. It's like a mini gym work out randomly all day long by picking up 3-gallon water bottles & pouring them.

My daytime running lights had a fuse in the fuse box under the hood. I just pulled the fuse out, and no more daytime running lights. Years ago my dad put a piece of tape over the sensor on his Chevy truck and that disabled them too.
Do an internet search on your vehicle, I'm sure other people have posted how to disable them for your year, make and model.

My 'quick' dash to the supermarket to top up turned into one hour 20 minutes.
My rant is not the fact they have moved everything in the time I haven't been there, but they have no branded items on the shelves, due to the move.
So my list cost me about 50 more than it should have. :(

I hate those damned blue LED headlights, before I could just stare at the white line when some inconsiderate slob bright lighted me, now I have to pull over!

In the bigger town nearest us, they have those blue street lights every so often, mixed with the white ones. I don't like the blue ones, either. What's up with the blue?
It is one of the easiest colors to see, and it goes right into your retinas. There was a school of thought that merely changing the wavelength of light could eliminate the need for glasses, such as a cool blue light for reading, green for rest, and red for waking up or getting frisky. LOL

I tell little granddaughter that those are the lights with the tracking cameras in them. I think the blue street lights when it's really dark out makes it harder to see

So I get myself up for once and go to do four months of laundry that's stacked up
And the damned place is crammed full! Who the hell does laundry at 9:00 in the morning on Friday?!
It's like I say, want to make a god laugh? Make plans!
I am doing laundry too. Today, we are emptying out a 55 gallon drum of water and taking buckets from it, to dump in the washing machine...why you might ask? Because I bought 2 drums to store water in. For some strange reason 1 of the drums smells very bad like plastic! Weird too, they are both supposed to be food grade. Maybe I should have washed them out first .
