No, my black lab is still a black lab, smells like Dawn dish soap but it beats what he usually smells like, once the peroxide is diluted in water it won't.
For pickle buckets, just put some charcoal bricks in the bottom of the bucket and put the lid on for about a week or so and that should do it. If it still smells, put the lid back on and wait longer.
if you drink city water your drinking bleach ! cleaning a bucket with it wont be near enough to poison you. Finally a way that doesn't require bleach. Yes, bleach makes me a tad bit nervous. I fear poisoning myself with bleach.
i use a vinegar /dawn mix for all my house cleaning works great .We have a cleaning company and given the choice we use vinegar quite a bit... it is a wonderful cleaner. No VOCs like many other cleaners have. My wife swears by it.
I know, but I do filter my water, just because it is city water, and i don't trust the communist state of kaliforniaif you drink city water your drinking bleach ! cleaning a bucket with it wont be near enough to poison you.
I have heard that vinegar is a natural disinfectant.i use a vinegar /dawn mix for all my house cleaning works great .
I agree, bleach is wonderful stuff. I use it to clean just about everything, and it's cheap! I dilute it of course, but like bravery said, it kills just about anything. Even in Africa, with the Ebola virus, they have sprayers with diluted bleach, and it's effective. I think it's best point is it breaking down realitively quickly. What do you fear about bleach? (Not trying to flame you or trying to be critical at all... just wondering ... you probably know something that I don't) It kills just about all viruses and bacteria and then it rather quickly breaks down (especially in the presence of heat and/or sunlight) into NaCl (table salt).
Mind you if you drink it straight like Nadia Comaneci tried to do; it would be very bad.
Since this thread has to do with water and storage, might i get an answer. If i were to buy big buckets for storage or even drums. What water would i use? hose water? im unsure.
I'd probably just use my hose and fill it up with water, thats what i did for the jacuzzi haha. But the hose thing is a really good idea. I'll probably treat the water just in case, cause im kind of lazy. Also keeping it out of sunlight? depend on the type of container or what?
I have a perfect area in my backyard thats up against a fence and out of sunlight most of the day, and not on concrete. Why cant the plastic containers sit on concrete? (what if i were to build a small wooden platform??)
not sure..but im thinking there's different grades of containers.and im also thinking that it's a all around best idea to keep all water storage containers away from any direct sunlight.thats why i need to change out the water i keep in the van..on acount its been there a few days now.and that means direct sun light, and what heat we've had so far.if i remeber right.direct sunlight will warm/heat the water.and at least cause it to stagnate..to say the least..
