It's exhausting watching this SCOTUS process from outside: two sides, each yelling about the motes in the other's eye.
Attempting to destroy a person's life and reputation with false testimony for purely political purposes is a "moat in someone's eye?"

You've taken moral equivalence to a whole new level Bluejoy!

So 'most people' remember 'certain details'... and the ones who don't? I couldn't tell you the date of my brother's death; I was there on it, and I've read it dozens of times, but it just doesn't stick - I think it was March or April.

There is a huge difference on the sides yelling. Did You see the women FOR Kavanaugh in the halls? They weren't yelling a screaming like hooligans.

Oh, who the hell takes a tiny baby to a protest? Call Social Services for endangerment

Don't be daft, I wouldn't dream of calling such an attempt a fortification ditch in someone's eye ;) In case you don't know the quote: "And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?" (Christian Bible, King James Version, Matthew 7:3).
Each side bangs on about the behaviour of the other yet spends too little time holding itself to its own high standards.

I did. I also saw Mr Trump, shortly after calling Dr Ford 'credible' and her testimony 'compelling', mock her and her testimony at a rally while his supporters - presumably also for Judge Kavanaugh - clapped and laughed and jeered. In DrHenley's language, they were "destroying a person's life and reputation with [mockery] for purely political purposes," in gleefully mean and small-hearted behaviour that diminishes the perpetrator even as it hurts the target. Some Republican senators spoke out against this nastiness, and rightly so, but where's the general Republican rejection of this foulness?

So... Kavanaugh is formally confirmed and Trump signed everything so we now have our 9th justice!

Dr. Ford, well what is there to say. She is getting exactly what she deserved. May it include some jail time.

Normally I don't watch SNL, but by chance as I'm reading online it came on the TV. They jumped into the Kavanaugh topic, and it was brutal. I think they nailed it, republicans are partying and democrats are "getting used to losing". I'm sure they were trying to insult conservatives, but I'm pumped and looked right through their normally shallow baloney.

Do not underestimate this "win". I really think this is the turning of the tide. The key is that Trump has finally gotten the 'republicans' to stand up like men and not mice. To not cower every time a reporter asks them a question or wet themselves when a nutjob girl starts yelling at them. If Trump can get them to work together, imagine what they can accomplish!

The 'weekend update' part of SNL is now on. They're in full-on assault of Trump & Kavanaugh. Really not funny at all... their anger is seething. One guy keeps calling SNL "Saturday Night Liberals"... the one funny part this section.

"I'm just glad we were able to ruin Brett Kavanaugh's life".

There are some sick people out there.
I read an article on cnn early this morning. The article started with all of Trumps victories and things that he has accomplished. Then it went on to what his critics say about him. It was the most positive news/ (fair) about Trump that I have seen from CNN. I wonder if they have gotten the message? Or if they are trying to point out he is winning against all odds, and trying to stir up the Democrats

I know the Wife is getting frustrated, at WSU where she works and teaches the atmosphere is militaristic in attitude. She’s thinking by April 2019 she is going to part paths with the college and maintain her work with the USGS on a limited basis.

She says it’s only a matter of time before her views are exposed given in Washington State it’s not hard to get a hold of ones voting record.

He will get his payback... just wait. It'll never get announced, but it will happen.

DP, of course. It was Sunday morning. All CNN listeners are hung over and sleeping. By doing it now they can say how they are 'fair' in their coverage. But do it when nobody is listening and it still counts.

A reporter for an NBC station in Austin was fired for wearing a MAGA cap.

In Austin? He's lucky he was only fired. Surprised he was assaulted. In fact I've been hearing about lots of shootings in Austin as their police become more handicapped.

Jontte has a great picture. I just feel a massive movement happening. Be careful, liberals will be exploding nationwide.

It wasn't Austin, TX, that would be suicide.
Don't even get me started on Austin TX. My daughter briefly lived in Austin TX and those people are certifiable!

The news report just said a "NBC station in Austin." But when I looked up the station, it was in Austin, Minnesota.

Oh, that SNL cold open was PRICELESS. I laughed my ass off. They've actually done a halfway decent job at taking jabs at both sides during this. Which is, surprising frankly. But funny as hell.

The rest of the show (Sat) blew, but watch the cold open.

TF - Do you honestly think RBG is going to make it to 2020? I hope Trump nominates a female candidate when its time. That way, it takes this play off the field.

I actually get firing a reporter for wearing a MAGA hat on air. Though far from it, a news reporter is SUPPOSED to appear impartial, and doing that destroys that premise. So THAT I understand. Firing one due to public support on one's PERSONAL page though, is a completely different story.

I about had a heart attack over the weekend when CNN had "good" headlines about Trump. In my best Sanford & Son imitation, I stumbled into the kitchen telling the wife to call an ambulance, this is the big one!

At first, she got a bit scared, then I held up my phone showing CNN's homepage. First, she was pissed, then she laughed. (She didn't vote Trump, but couldn't vote for Hillary either. She left it blank and just voted on all the local and state stuff.)
