Getting ready to go chop Ice again this kinda weather 2x a day feed & water. for hounds any frozen eggs get cracked in a buck and Mixed with calf milk replacer and warm water every hounds gets 3 laddles on top of their dog food.
I made the chickens some ramen noodles yesterday
the goats and sheep will get a small bucket of electrolytes and molasses, it encourages them to drink and stay healthy hopefully

One whole degree here right now, but hey, it's getting up to 20 later in the day today, so that'll be downright hot. Ha.
If the week's forecast is correct, we'll be staying up in the evening about 10 degrees or so, so the worst is over for now, after today.
Yep, the past few days, I'll take Alaska weather instead of ours.

Got more snow overnight, very windy and super cold. We have had cold like this before, but this time it's supposed to stay longer
no end in sight
This is how our summers have been for the past couple years. Usually we have a week or so of triple digits. The past couple yrs, we’ve had 6 week runs of them. Not normal regardless of the reason.

The poles are shifting , maybe they are about to flip
or it's just normal axis of the earth rotation

we have had very dry summers, almost no rain for a few months , that's not normal either

there you go, if there is an ice age, obviously there is a period of warming where the glaciers melt and it's hotter

...All because you wouldn't buy an EV!gaah

Well well, the forecast has changed AGAIN !! Now more of an ice event than snow!! 🙄🙄🙄
Ice is a far bigger problem than snow is. We get a lot of both here. It happens every year so we're prepared for it. Studded tires are put on in October followed by chains on the tractor and service on the 2 snowblowers. Once the snow gets deep enough I put tracks on the side by side.

We usually get ice🙁

We have highs in the 20's which isn't bad since the heat pump can keep up.
Lows in the teens or single digits requires me to fire up one or both woodstoves. I hate using emergency heat. The electric meter spinner looks like it has enough RPM's to fly away.
You must have one of the newer ones, last I heard the couldn't function below 20°.
We are fortunate, they changed our meter to a digital smart-meter so I don't see the wheel spin.
When I had the whole central system that was 20+ years old, they told me we needed a 3-ton unit.
I told them I wanted a 3-1/2 ton unit, and it rocks!!:D
When the heat comes on, it heats tons of air and it don't run for very long!
Of course it burns megawatts, but I don't see the wheel spin.🤪
I wouldn't care anyway because I promised myself when I retired, I wouldn't be miserable just to pinch pennies. 🤑

Yes, it's a new Bosch 5-ton unit. Love this thing.

It'll run at 0° and produce heat, but not enough so either emergency heat or woodstoves.

Earlier today when it was 20°, the farthest register from the furnace showed 86° with the infrared heat gun. At 30° or above, it'll blow at around 94°.

In the summer, when it's above 90°, I'll get readings around 48-49° when the A/C is running.

I have Trane and Amana in my other places. They're "OK" but nowhere near as good as the Bosch. Going forward, all I'll use is Bosch.
