WARNING: This subject might "Rock someone's boat". So, guard your fake, wimpy feelings. I will reduce this to the lowest intelligence level. (Side note: PEASE don't ban me for this thread)

How much intelligence is required to start a thread on a subject that you are passionate about...??

Why do cowards lack the ****** to start a thread but have orgasms of bliss diverting another focused thread.....???

We could increase the quality of forum knowledge & and focused awareness with very little effort.

Lots of Threads here, Good Will Started, get turned into Wizzing Threads as there always has to 🐝 Someone with More than the previous poster has...!!!

I don't know the answer to your questions. Because I try to look at whose birthday it is on any given day, I only give a birthday greeting to active people. I used to be silly enough to try to include everyone, but not anymore. I will tell you this: on any given day, there are many people who joined this forum, and not only did they not start a thread, they haven't commented once. Some join, and maybe introduce themselves, or make a comment or two, but otherwise, are phantom.

I am just wondering here. Is it because they are here to learn, but not contribute? Are they afraid that they don't have anything worthy of contributing? Are they here to get something to take back to their more important forum to them? (The answer to this one is yes, without a doubt and some of us know who they are) Are they spies for the government?

I think people develop a persona based on life experiences. This affects the interpretation of everything. Written word or spoken word. It can be a manifestation of a flight or fight response.

I can't explain why someone would purposely disrupt a thread. Low self esteem? Envy? IDK
There are many here that I refer to as 'The Chronic Disagreers'.
They only want to pound their chest and say: "You are so wrong! You must listen to me because I am far smarter than you!🧐".
They will always be around:(.

Some people are just jerks.

Use the ignore option on those that post crap.

Once enough people ignore them their entertainment goes away.

Vaid......but what is their motivation....???

OK.......I'll agree with that. "NOW" is there some reason that owners/management of "THEIR" forum can't "cull" that behavior...??? Yes, I understand how a forum survives (by clicks & posts).

It would seem prudent given that a huge number of forums have died recently, that survival could require painful choices.

@Swing I love your forum, I truly do love HCL. I just need it "HCL" to survive the super "CULLING".

In just our recent times, maybe 15 years so far, common folk can communicate with other people around the world in seconds. I've communicated with Russian bushcrafters in real time using a built in interpreter.

It's a power some have problems understanding and controlling due to that personal level

It will be gone before we know it, in my opinion

Some of you probably remember when you picked up the phone and hit the yoke twice to get a operator or a few places still had the crank, two cranks or you cut an ad out of a magazine and sent a check for something. Waited months to get it. I ordered a tomahawk from cronks trapping supply, checked the mailbox for two months before it showed up.

Get rid of the like feature and the only way to interact with a thread is to directly respond to it. One on one

YES, 100% truth. Sadly, that would terminate the economic foundation of the "forum" business model.
