They just took away your cold and moved it to the Great Lakes area.
Our temps are highs in the teens, lows down to 10-15 below zero.
I will do my part for warming the globe by running both woodstoves 24/7. Screw my electric heat. The house next door that only has electric heat just got a $1000 electric bill, and that's before these below zero temps.

We've been burning 24/7 since October. I lit our first fire in August. We're getting plenty cold temps here but very little snow. We only have about 1 to 2 feet left on the ground. Should have 4 to 6 feet at this time of the year. I hope we can make up for it in February and March.

I live in a camper, and my electric bill is $80$ a month. It will drop to $60$ in the spring, less if Trump gets things fixed.
Micro-styling and smiling all the way home yo! :p

And is it 10° there? :)
I can't do "Micro-styling". I have around 8000 sq/ft using heat and A/C. Need to spread my legs. ;) (and make space for everyone so we don't have to deal with or see each other constantly).

What is an Oupes Mega 1?
Solar generator. Mega 2 is better capacity. And we have the add on battery to it. You can use the solar panels when they run down or you can just plug them in if you have electricity, or use a car adapter, but that would take forever.
For reviews on youtube....Alaska Prepper, Pinball Preparedness have done them. Husband's done alot of research on them, all brands, and is pleased with the Oupes capability and price. These are just back up to back ups, tho. We have a propane whole house generator, and 3 gas generators, and solar panels on the roof of the garage for three lithium batteries that we use with inverters for whatever. The Oupes solar panels are fold out, and I can lift them easily. I would use 2 of the panels to charge the Mega 2, and it would take 4 to 5 hrs in full sun if it were down to zero percent. So we are just messing with them right now, seeing what they run well and for how long. I think we're hooking up to the big fridge in the kitchen next, but not today, husband is napping.

Nope. Now you sound like our two Tucson daughters. The one I was zooming with today had on a long sleeved shirt and it was 70 degrees.
I know when our girls or my Floriday sis come to visit, I always put heaters to use in their guest rooms. They are always cold. And I have a closet with extra jackets and sweatshirts and a dresser with heavy socks, gloves, and stocking caps. Because they're always cold.

Sometimes I forget that I have internet now. So after I asked the question I looked them up. They look very nice and sound like they would make good backup if any part of your solar system goes down, and it will over time. The price seems reasonable too, but of course it adds up when you add the solar panels and extra batteries. I think I'll research them a little more and see if it would make sense to incorporate them in my system. During this time of year my backup generator is averaging 6 hours per day run time, in summer it averages less than an hour a day.

We have the Mega 2 and the extra battery stacked on a 4 wheeled type handtruck that I can move wherever very easily. The Mega 1 is in the 20 lb range and I pick that up and put it on the kitchen counter or wherever. The lithium batteries are Millertech brand and are very light weight. Husband is not mobile, so I have to do the lifting. The solar panels fold flat with a handle and are about 30 lbs each. Sounds like this would be easy on your back, too.

I'm actually always hot! But I love the hot weather 🤔, that's why I moved south!! And I see no reason to have the inside of the house the same as the outside temp. Right now with the wood stove burning it's 75° in the den where the stove is. It's 66° back in the bedrooms! My last electric bill for this 2000 sq ft house was $62, the next one will be right around that! As long as we can cut, split, and handle firewood we will, and we will have the house comfortable!!

At 4pm local time and our high temp of the day is -10F.. Light north west breeze, sunny, bright.. Barometer is still high and my knees, hips are complaining to the max..

Today is something like ...World Snow Day... The opportunity to get out and enjoy snow and all kinds of winter sports.. NOT me..

I have a creek separating my property. My house is on one side, my woodshed on the other.
95% of the time, I can use what's in the woodshed. Not this winter.
I kept a cord of wood on the house side of the creek but with these temps, I'm burning through it and getting nervous.
I took out a spud bar and busted up the creek ice with hopes I can cross the creek. If I can't get there in the next week or so, I'm fooked. :(
