I did a forum search but couldn't find a thread for games.
@Amish Heart you said y'all play games on Saturday nights. I love that! When I've gone to see my sister we play games. When I go to see my nearby grandkids they always want to play a game. Their mom is real into games. As a family we used to play games when the kids were at home.
Maybe this is of interest...there are so many games available now. Maybe this will give you an idea of something to buy or get for your grandkids or kids.
What have you been playing? Give a review. Relive a wild time your group had with a game.
We've played a lot of card games...Egyptian Rat Slap is a favorite, played with two decks of regular playing cards, 2-4 players is good. So much yelling.
I've played Quiddler and Five Crowns, but it has been a while, so I don't remember much about them. My sister won many rounds/games of Quiddler until I caught on. It is a word card game.
Last time recently to see my granddaughter she had us play "taco cat goat cheese pizza." Of course she won almost every turn and not because I let her! You try it! She's 7!!

We have Quiddler, haven't played that in a while. Cover Your Assets was last Saturday night....recommended by our amish neighbor Kathy. Her family likes it, even their 9 yr old. I enjoyed it, I won. The week before was my favorite Scrabble. Little granddaughter is an Apples to Apples fan and we bought the extra cards, too. A similar game to that is What Do You Meme. Pretty good.

I played board games as a kid. But I've never been into card games as an adult, played a few over the years. Played Hearts a lot when I worked offshore. In Tennessee there was a card game played at local bars called Tonk that everyone played, too many ways to cheat though. If you find yourself in a bar in Tn and you're invited to play Tonk... do yourself a favor and pass. 🤣 Cheating is an art form there... I play solitaire when the power is off sometimes... 😁

Apples to Apples is fun, haven't played it in a few years.
I enjoy Scrabble too. Could never play against my dad or my sister, they'd always win.
I play solitaire when the power is on, online.
Living in a dormitory when I was going to college for a year, we played Spades for 8 hours every night.
I became a master, but needed to be partly drunk to really shine.🤪
...Whoever said you can't learn something useful in college?🤣

We used to play a lot of games, especially when Mom was living. Hubby's folks are big into games whenever we see them (haven't in a long time)! We like Uno, Scrabble, Racko, various card games, Jenga!! Nobody likes to play with me because I'm crazy super competitive! Hubby and I made our own version of Triple Yahtzee years ago!! Hubby's mom remarried after we lost his dad, her husband is also very competitive. If we played a game that had to have scores added up, we would actually compete to see who could add it faster! Really annoying to everyone else, 🤣!

I'm always the Scrabble winner, too....except sometimes against our youngest daughter. She loves the game, even bought her one of those fancy sets with the board on a lazy Susan type thing. My husband plays solitaire on the computer a lot. I don't think I've ever played a game on a phone or computer. We used to play Risk alot, and I just bought a new set. Our last one we bought in France in the mid 80's and played alot. This ones in English (ha). I remember days of Monopoly as a kid, loved the game. We have an upstairs family room in this farmhouse, and it has three shelf units. They are full of games, puzzles (I like puzzles, too) and cookbooks.

I would love to play you!! Do you play singles or doubles? I only like playing singles
( 4 people, or if you have 3 deal out an extra hand and don't use it)
Spades is my favorite card game but I have played with different people and the rules vary somewhat. The way we play it; 4 players, 5 overbooks and you lose 50 points
Trump cannot be played until it is broken

we love playing games, used to play miniature wargames but now just board games and cards
My favorite board games : Settlers of Catan , Agricola, Castles of Burgundy ( which I hated the first time I played it LOL) , Ra and card game Spades
We have apples to apples too but that's only fun if you drink and play with a whole bunch of people like a party imo

Game I hate: Scrabble

We always played 4 people, doubles. Having a good partner across the table is essential.
Hope you are good at going 'nil-low', because I am! :waiting:
Getting 100 points in just one game changes everything!
It's been decades since I have played, but I'd bet with a couple strong mixed-drinks, it will all magically come back.:D
...It did the last time I played. :)

So this is not a table game but a fun family game that could go on for years. The example (idea) was an orange sweater. I can’t really remember how it started but when whoever had the orange sweater would visit a family member (siblings or parents) they would take the orange sweater and hide it in the family member’s house without them knowing. They would eventually find it and end up taking it to another family member’s house and on and on. They were creative- one time hiding it under the base of a floor lamp etc. It obviously doesn’t have to be an orange sweater but something “seeable” if stumbled upon.

We did that game for years but with a blue jockstrap (which had accidentally been washed with new blue jeans). 🤣
I wish I could remember it's name, it had a name.:(
Whenever a girl got married for the first time, it was always in her honeymoon suitcase. 🤣
