I want the pot, the hiking boots, the fishing rod, and the knife.

while the rest of you were arguing, I took my axe, felled a few trees built a forge, and am building a knife, and a few other necesities, found some others attemtp at survivors camp, learned what not to do, shot a wild boar, am slow cooking that, wondering what the knife and fishing rod people are going to eat.

Fish of course. With a knife I can make a trap for the wild boar, or birds or any other critter on the island.

4. The first aid kit, you never know, healing up from knife cuts, pot burns, broken mirror shards.

It depends on where the island is, hot, cold? If it's hot I don't see any need for boots, my feet will toughen up pretty quick. No need for a gun, since I can make land traps and fish/crab traps with the knife. The pot would be nice to have to boil water in case there's no good drinking water, at least until I can collect rain water and make a filter. I certainly don't have any use for the dope. A mirror would be useless since I wouldn't want to be rescued.
There are so many variables to take in to account, but I think I'd be fine with a tarp, knife, matches, and fishing rod.

Mirror - Serves are fire starter, can be used to signal planes/boats, and sometimes I like to look at myself. I am pretty handsome. Could also help me avoid insanity and see wounds or injuries I can't see directly.

Knife - Obvious reasons. Knife should be on everyone's list. Plus it would help me sleep at night knowing I could stab mermaids if they crawled up on shore.

Pot - Allows me to remove contaminants from water without removing essential minerals, provides a means of carrying water, can use it to cook foods, lid can be used as a plate, weapon, shield or for other purposes. Plus if need be I could use it to make Island Kraut or Kimchee.

Fishing rod - I am going to presume on a deserted island, there is more water based proteins available than land based proteins, and that water based proteins are naturally more sustainable. If I can't catch fish I can use the rod and line for other purposes, like making snares.

The gun will run out of ammo sooner or later. The knife can cut wood for fire, shelter, coconut tap, lace it to a piece of wood and spear fish and poke bee hives!

I can think of WAY TOO MANY MERMAID JOKES!! But since I don't want to be sent to a deserted island I'll keep them to myself! There would just be a bunch of asterisks anyway!!
