I have several on my back, I’ve always kept them out of sight. Alexandra has almost a complete back piece.

I just don't see the point in having one. Why DO people get them? It's painful costs money and you could catch some disease and they look crappy after a while or maybe even to start on some people , they are not making anyone look better either
when I see people tattooed all over first thing I think is gang members
In various "classes" I have been told it's to mark their "individuality" or "emphasize their difference from others"

True or not, I don't know. I am REDACTED individual enough not to need one :p

Someone with Tats is way more qualified to answer.

I'm still trying to decide :p

None for me!! I started a tattoo thread some time back because of a young waitress who had to wear a big band aid on her neck to cover her tattoo while at work. My two 90 year old friends would give her a hard time! I don't care if you have tattoos, but on your face or neck seems like you may not have thought things through all the way! Just my opinion!!
I have a few tattoos. I got them in Russia, Kazakhstan, Bangkok and 1 in Alaska. All can be covered by a short sleeve shirt. When I was hiring manager I had a policy to never hire anyone with tattoos on the face, hands or neck. Or anywhere else that can't be covered up. Same with piercings.
My son's GF has tattoos over 98% of her body. She looks like a circus freak. I can't stand to even look at her.

I have 3. Mine too can be covered with a short sleeve shirt. (1 on each arm, 1 on my chest).
I was a consultant for decades working with mid to high level corporate personnel. Never was an issue.
Same here. I worked up to executive VP level in an oil company. I never would have made it that far in my career if I had visible tattoos. Like I said earlier, I would never hire anyone who had tattoos or piercings that couldn't be covered. Even for laborer positions in the field. Every employee is a representative of the company they work for.

Never even considered it. As a kid in the 60’s all the tats I saw were from ww2. They were bad ink when fresh. 25Yrs later… they were horrible ink. I remember playing ‘guess what the tat is’ at family reunions with other kids. They were mostly unrecognizable.

These days… they look fine on other people but a no for me… never wanted one.

When graduating from "A" school in the Navy there was a supposed tradition to either get a tattoo or get an ear pierced. During a pure grain alcohol fueled graduation party I got my ear pierced because I knew it was reversible.

So no tattoos for Ben.

I suspect my son has a tattoo but he has never admitted it to me.

My eldest granddaughter got her nose pierced when she turned 14. After almost a year I can finally look her in the eye without being distracted by the ring.

I've got a tattoo of a dragon on my left arm. I don't even like dragons. All I remember is waking up in a little hole in the wall place in a back ally in Bangkok. Don't even remember getting it. The guy did a good job on it though. The colors are still sharp after all these years.
that's funny , if I did get a tattoo, I would most likely get one of 2 things, a DRAGON since I like them and am one in Chinese horoscope, or the Supernatural tattoo that keeps demons from possessing your body LOL

None. And at age 75 i doubt if I ever will.
But, if i ever do, it will be a regulation size representation of my Army unit patch, the Red Diamond of the 5th Infantry Division, on my right shoulder.
On the right shoulder, because in the army the patch of the unit you were in combat with goes on the upper right sleeve of the uniform.
Quite a few of my Brothers have that with the blue CIB underneath. Combat Infantry Badge. I don't rate one of those because I was not a rifleman.

Guess Hashbrown and I are the odd ones out. I have 7 on my arms. Have a huge MOAUN AABE on my forearm but with the correct characters. People tend to avoid and leave me alone. I am 57 and going to get more, I am the boss at work so I don't have to worry about employment. I love going to meetings with insurance companies and they are in suits. I show up in jeans and short sleeve pearl snap shirt. They at least remember me. Very conservative in all other ways.

OUCH!!! But again, my question is why did you get them? I am just curious why "normal" non gang member ( like Jacuza in Japan) do this?
Most of mine symbolize different times in my life. My favorite one I drew myself, Alex and I hadn’t been married a month or so and I was sitting in my truck counting how many dump trucks loads of dirt came in so I could compare it to the billing I would get. I drew a naked picture of Alexandra on a corn dog wrapper. So I had to have that one permanently put on my back. I have my fathers and mother’s family crests on each of my shoulders. On the back of my neck it says Vengeance is mine sayeth the lord. That’s something I’ve always thought about when I get a little too upset.

I have 4 so far and can't wait to get more. I've been an artist my whole life and it's always fascinated me
Just curious how old you are! And if tattoos are something you are into, go for it!! Being an artist you will go for quality work!! Pics if you dare!😃😉

I wanted a tribal crow and a few other markings, I failed the allergy test with flying colors.
I looked into "sculpting" but I'm not that masochistic to let somebody with a heated loop carve on me. I am NOT that Metal!
