was trying to read it with thought,do I fit in as some of those preppers or not ;)
but as Mav said there are some you don't wanna hang out if it turns bad.

if I had unlimited funds,I might be a gun nut

You can always try to come here to the States :)

Though I seen many many preppers including a ton load of forums on the internet giving the illusion that prepping revolves around firearms and in my book steering too many new preppers in the wrong direction by putting firearms at the same level of water food shelter and warmth, unfortunately I have been chastise for speaking against some of these directions on other sites thus the one of the reasons I remain on this site... little more level headed here.

Mav,you never can tell where this path goes, perhaps I could even find a job there as a paramedic :)
true,if it was only about guns, this would be easy, but there comes so much more.
one reason I went back to school as I think my new skills are far better in some shtf situation, doesn't need to be big,but as a paramedic I can do alot more.
despite that I did graduate,I still like to read and watch vids about medical stuff, keeps my mind going
interesting was that my brother took a first-aid course and he liked it,it's always nice to have someone else around with some degree of knowledge in first-aid.

You can't eat lead. While firearms are necessary and you should have them, ultimately they are a tool. You can't shoot your way out of every situation, no matter how much ammo you have.

No, you can't eat lead, but you can trade it for things that you can eat or items you may need or want. To me guns are a tool to be used when necessary or for recreation. Whether it's for putting food on the table or for protection from two or four legged critters.

Don't get me wrong Arcticdude, I agree with you about putting food on the table and using a firearm for protection but in the context of what I was saying, I meant I don't want a Rambo running around thinking that every situation they come up against is a time to use a gun to shoot their way out. You can trade bullets for food or other supplies.

I don't think there are many of those types here.
Personally though, I'm OK with bragging types, as:
1) They should be proud of what they've done
2) It isn't like folks are going to travel cross country to get to a poster
3) It helps others learn and see what they did

A certain bit of that is vital to other preppers. Just be a bit humble about it is all. I envy a lot of folks here.
