When I scrub my kitchen tile floor, it usually takes me 2.5 hours on my hands and knees. Afterwards there is lots of pain.

I finally found a buffer/scrubber that is not for commercial use. Today it took me about 20 minutes to complete the job. No pain involved. Best present I ever bought myself.

Next I'm going to attempt to get a shine back on the hardwood. It isn't from the kits, but white oak that has been abused by dogs, cats, kids and me walking with sand on my shoes. Im happy.

See if you can get a floor sander.

Also, there is a way to use tung oil on floors that will make them look very nice, and protect the wood from moisture, mold, dry rot, and humidity.

How many tongues did they have to squeeze to fill that container? And what kind of tongues were they, kitten, Pitt bull, lizard?..... lol. I’m a woodworker and have used it a lot over the years. Polyurethane is my number one go to but there are many things I prefer an oil finish that soaks in.

I agree.

I use tung oil on my rifle stocks and wood pistol grips. My girlfriend enjoys working with wood and restoring old furniture. I talked her into using boiled linseed oil and/or tung oil instead of stain and a wax polish, and she likes the results.

I love stone floors. Never rot, no termite issues, etc.

My vacuum is hooked up at all times. I get approximately 1 quart of hair per day. Don't think the robot will work for me. My daughter has one and it stays full because of 2 German Shepherds.

Hi Robin, only one dog and she is only weighing in at 10 lbs with short hair, no fur. The last one was poisoned and had long fur with under fur. She was a Nova Scotian Duck Tolling Retriever. Smallest retriever in the world with the longest name...I taught her in english, my wife in hungarian and the kids spoke to her in german...really smart little thing and beloved in the town where we live, she could go into the bars and restaurants because she was so well behaved and was cleaner than some of the "normal" customers. Your wooden floors sound a lot like mine. . . I can get them to shine back up for the most part and they will look dead t for about a week except where the main walkways are where the varnish has been completely worn off due to the sand tracked in. Can also relate to the over abundance of dog hair. It's a never ending cycle.

When we moved into our house, the wood floors were in bad need of refinishing. I rented a big floor sander and took it down past all the dents and stains, and then put some polyurethane floor finish on it. That was 20 years ago and it's held up well.

My hip has had a rough winter.

They injected my Bursa Sac today. Hopefully, that will help.

They did all this prepping so I was expecting lots of pain. There wasn't any . He said that points to nerve damage. It's odd how I'm in constant pain, but don't feel the injections.

Being old.....

My son just called me from his room and said his door is broken and he was locked in. He was correct. The screws and hinges were all on his side.

Remember he is special with an IQ of 44.
I had to get a ladder and crawl through his window. I brought a few tools but non of them would work. Finally Took off the knob . still wouldn't open the latch. Took off hinges. Didn't work. Took a baseball bat and jammed it into the door knob hole and broke it loose.

I am so proud of my son for not panicking. He probably would have if I hadnt gotten into his room.

The elderly part is that climbing and falling into his window/floor has broken my back. I cringe at the thought of my husband being here alone if this happened. He is so helpless when it comes to such situations.

My son said he didn't need the door put back on for a while. I think he's scared it will happen again.

I have no idea how old you are, but mom will be 87 in 10 days. I didn't realize she was at that stage. The woman can out shop me any day.

Well, I'm not going down without a fight. I recently got Platelet Rich Plasma injections in both knees because they were getting so bad. It got to the point where just getting out of bed was an ordeal. One has been trouble free for a couple months now and the other is getting close.

I wrote it wrong, it's Platelet Rich Plasma, not Platelet Rich Protein (PRP for short).

First off understand that PRP is not a drug. They take a sample of your blood and run it through a centrifuge to separate out the platelets. Then they inject those into your knee. Everything comes from your own body. There are a lot of things you have to avoid when taking PRP injections. They work by actually causing an inflammatory response, so you can't take any kind of anti-inflammatory drug or supplement or it will defeat the purpose of the injections. No Vitamin A, no Glucosamine, no MSM, no aspirin etc. You can't even take Melatonin.

And things will actually get worse before they get better.

Well, I'm not going down without a fight. I recently got Platelet Rich Plasma injections in both knees because they were getting so bad. It got to the point where just getting out of bed was an ordeal. One has been trouble free for a couple months now and the other is getting close.

That's good to know. My friend's 5 year old daughter brought me a can of WD-40 because my knees and back were creaking and snapping when I squated to pick something up.
