We have a daughter really allergic to burning Mesquite. Sends her into a full blown asthma attack.

I have been eating a lot of tomato, mayo, and cheese sandwiches this week. Yesterdays was grilled.
Who was it, Phideaux? Look what you started.

I had a cheese tomato and Miracle Whip sammich yesterday.

Today I had a sliced banana , placed on white bread drizzled heavy with honey, then drizzle heavy other bread with honey then a thick application of peanut butter, slap that together and OMG..

Heavenly.

You need to come to Des Moines, Jim. There is a joint called Zombie Burger that serves something called the "Undead Elvis Burger". A double cheeseburger with peanut butter and fried bananas, plus bacon, eggs, and mayo on it. Sounds awful to me, but my buddy swears by it...

I could do that one time.

Sounds good to me.

The way you feel about vinegar @Spikedriver is the way I feel about steak sauce. Steak sauce should not exist. If the steak is so bad it needs sauce, then you should grind it up and make a burger. :)

Unless by steak sauce you mean butter whipped with garlic, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Then I am on board.

If it's a fake steak, cheap , then a tad of A-1 sauce just to get it down .
We don't usually go for those $8-$9 steaks , but once in a while when we do..gotta have a cover up.

A $20 steak better not need sauce or it's going back to the kitchen.:ghostly:

Jim
I rarely get steak any more. I've been disappointed too many times. But if I can find a grill-your-own steak joint, I'll get a nice sirloin or porterhouse.

As I get older, I find that I prefer brisket over steak. And I like pork loin over chops. And both of those are better with sauce...

I gave up on going out for steaks, that's something I would rather make at home. But the same is true for pork chops which we eat often.

When the Mrs. and I go out she almost always has seafood and I almost always have a chef salad and some kind of appetizer. I know, sounded weird even as I wrote it. But as Keto eaters have have grilled or cast iron fried meat several times a week. Often times served with a Burgundy mushroom sauce or a Bearnaise. When we go out I want something different.

@Sentry18 and @phideaux I find I want seafood or soups more often now. I love fried shrimp, whether it's popcorn, butterfly, or jumbo. I love tiger prawns. And lobster and crab, but I don't spend the money for those too much. I don't like mussels though, and I'm not real big on crawdads. But I've really gotten into gumbo and jambalaya lately too, which need a condiment - a little hot sauce. And I'm always down for chicken and dumplings...I can make a meal out of those soups any time...

How about Frog legs, Fish ?

Shrimp and crab meat always my favorite.
Not crazy bout gator tail.

Jim
You know, I've never had gator...

I love fresh water fish, but not a big fan of salmon or trout. Walleye, perch, crappie, and bluegills are my favorites...

And I'm not a huge fan of frog legs, but I'll definitely eat them. I just find the flavor a bit strong...

Yes I did , only one time.
I was camping with 2 friends on the Mississippi River , we caught a huge turtle,
My friend knew how to dress it and we cooked it. No sauce or condiments.

I liked it.
White and dark meat .

Yes similar to chicken.

Never had another opportunity.
I have big be ones in my pond , but I wont dress one...too much work.

When my wife eats a peanut butter and banana sandwich I will not even kiss her until she brushes her teeth. I hate the smell of those 2 combined.
I went to a steak house and the waiter asked me if I needed steak sauce. I told him I better not need it. He smiled and said I would not.
My brother likes his steak well done and then he mixes A1 with catsup on it.
I have slowly gotten him away from that. Mom ate all her beef well done, almost to the point of burnt.
My Dad cooked steak for him and his drinking buddy once. The buddy put catsup on it . Dad took the steak, washed off the catsup in the sink and fed it to the dog.

There used to be a product called Shedd's Old Style Sauce. It was bought ought and the name changed to Aunt Nellie's Sauce. They finally quit making it. I called the manufacturer and asked when the'd do another run. They said, sorry. It was great on seafood, in deviled eggs, or in macaroni salad.
