Our last house had a wrap around porch. One thing I did not like was that we never had any direct sunlight come into the house because of the porch roof. I don't think I would want a porch on the south side again unless I was in a very warm area.

That one is way to big for me, but I don't have as many munchkins as you and mine are out of the house
I much prefer the next one you posted - complete w/ screened in porch/summer kitchen - right up my alley!
