That one looks like an owl to me. <= see almost identical but facing the other directionI'm pretty sure this one is either an owl or a flying squirrel. I can't think of anything else it could possibly be. View attachment 170523

I think it's an owl too.
Hint: A President of the United Stated had a battle with one of these creatures once. He (the President) was victorious but he never lived it down and it marked the turning point in his presidency.I do know what this one is. Does anyone else? And be specific. A female bigfoot got my 0bamaphone.I HAD two game cameras, both have met with ill fate lately!! One I hung on a tree too close to the donkey's fence, I wanted to see which deer were bedding down behind his run in shed! He managed to reach it and destroy it!! He loves new toys! The other was on my front porch and stolen by a raccoon and taken into the woods! Hubby ran it over with a garden tractor he uses to haul firewood! The card was good, full of raccoon pics!! So I'm in the market for a couple of new ones!!
I want a thread about Bigfoot and others.

Yes it's a swamp rabbit. The ears do look big for a swamp rabbit but that's just because it's a large swamp rabbit that is hunched up making it look smaller than it really is. If you look closely you will notice that the rabbit's head is longer than the ears. In Peanut's picture of a cottontail, the head and ears are about the same length. That rabbit is way to long and tall for a cottontail. I have pictures of cottontails in that same spot. Their bodies are much more compact.
One time when I was in high school, in the 60's, we we had a LARGE rabbit hunt. So large there were eight people on horseback with burlap sacks carrying the rabbits that people shot. The block of woods we were hunting was a mile by a half mile and there was a line of hunters a half mile wide that walked from one end to the other of the woords, while a large pack of beagles kept the rabbits moving..
My cousin shot a particularly large swamp rabbit. His brother (who was 6'1') measured the rabbit with his arm. From the rabbits nose to its toes stretched from his fingertips to the top of his shoulder. He exclaimed "That's not a rabbit, it's a HORSE."
The picture was taken in that same block of woods.
Being low men on the totem pole, my cousins and I had to clean the mountain of rabbits. I didn't want to eat rabbit for years after that, LOL.
Ours just headed straight for the water where they couldn't be tracked. We never hunting them, at least not on purpose. We squirrel hunted in the swamp every fall for the meat. I remember laughing at hounds that jumped a swamper. Dogs couldn't keep up and the rabbits would always run in a big circle along the same path. Over and over and literally wear out a bunch of dogs unless we intervened.
Cousin Stinky used to carry off my trash when I was at the wood lot. She loved those citrus-scented bags! If I used cheapo bags I had to carry my junk to the Mom n pop. I had other stuff out there with me as well, less believable beings.
