The day the music died...On February 3, 1959, American rock and roll musicians Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and "The Big Bopper" J. P. Richardson were all killed in a plane crash near Clear Lake, Iowa, together with pilot Roger Peterson.

@Morgan101 i was going to post a Joe Cocker song but couldn’t decide which one. This works!

My all time Joe Cocker favorite is Delta Lady. I love Joe Cocker's version, I love Leon Russell, and I loved Mad Dogs and Englishmen. WTH let's post it.

TRIVIA: Do you know who the Delta Lady was?

Rita Coolidge, although she disavows any clandestine meetings with Leon Russell in the garden or anywhere else. She says those were figments of his imagination.

The song “Radio John” has been playing on bluegrass radio lately, my new favorite song. (I have a new favorite every week or so.) This one is just plain fun to pick. The cd came in the mail today so I can play along anytime!

The song and album is by Sam Bush. It’s dedicated to his friend and mentor “John Hartford”.

(As a young man JH used the moniker “Radio John” when he was a radio DJ.)

My FAVORITE song written by: Hank Williams Sr. (Here sung by BJ Thomas)
