For some inexplicable reason, this song has been in my head for the past few days, meant to post it earlier...
ELP
I still remember when that album first came out, my older brothers had killer stereos with components like Kenwood, Pioneer, Marantz, etc. The old school vinyl records sounded so good on that stereo gear! I grew up listening to the best rock & roll: Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, ELP, Uriah Heep, early Rolling Stones, The Moody Blues, Procol Harum, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, King Crimson, the list goes on to cover all the biggest rock stars of that era. I was lucky to have seven older brothers (and one sister, lol), I got to hear the latest rock & roll hits on killer sound systems and old school vinyl! I look back on those days with great fondness... though I didn't realize how fortunate I was at the time, lol.
Now, speaking of Emerson, Lake & Palmer, I believe Keith Emerson was the keyboard player? If so, that guy was on the cutting edge of keyboard & synthesizer work in rock & roll... his work in this song reflects that statement. Some musicians are like that, they soar at a higher level than others because their artistry is so great. And now, over half a century after this song came out, I can still listen to it and enjoy it, lol... I love the keyboard work in this one.
P.S. Since I mentioned Uriah Heep, here's another tune I've enjoyed over the decades, it's a keeper, lol.
