Ashokan Farewell, a song I have loved since I first heard it over 35yrs ago. A song I have though I’d like played at my funeral some day. It’s been played at many funerals over the years, especially in Bluegrass circles.

Tonight was the season finale of the show Yellowstone, John Dutton was buried. Surprised me, they played Ashokan Farewell as background music…

Some might remember it from the 'Civil War' by Ken Burns. The song was used on his series for pbs in 1990.

Ha I too have said I want this played. My favorite version is Mark O’Connor.
