Love it! It amazes me when you can tell an artist by the sound of their instrument.
I love “O’Connerese.”

@LadyLocust that was amazing!!! Only the woodland fairies could dance that fast. I love violin music, just about any kind.

It comes full circle - - for Wynton Marsalis - - hailing from Louisiana, he and his dad Ellis Marsalis,(my teacher at NOCCA) are world-renowned Jazz musicians. I noticed Wynton began to branch out in the last 15 years, touring with Gospel and Classical groups, and other types of music besides his beloved Jazz. Mark O'Conner from Washington State, was first inspired by Louisiana Cajun fiddler, Doug Kershaw. And although Boil 'Em Cabbage Down has it's roots in Appalachia - - Mark O'Connor's playing could easily be mistaken for Cajun Zydeco !! Great post!!
