There used to be a navy base on the east end of PR. Been there, it was nice. (seems I remember a big club just off base... and food known as monkey meat on a stick. shhh)

Found our tax dollars at work tonight, even had viewing options. Had maps of precip and temp for the next quarter.

Rosie's bar in Puerto Rico? I don't remember monkey meat. But I was pretty drunk from beer on the pier before ever even going out on liberty. Anyway i was there for washdown on the USS Bataan in 2000 after we had to remove a bunch of squatters in the impact are on Vieques island.

Don't remember the name of the bar, it was all senior enlisted guys and locals. Monkey meat was grilled outside on 55g drums cut in half. It smelled great after a night of drinking. Back then I had a rule about not eating unidentifiable food. After a decade working overseas as a civilian that rule got tossed. Many times, if I couldn't read a menu, I'd just point at someone else's plate that looked good. Usually could make the waitress understand what I wanted but had no idea what I was eating.

Yep, familiar with Vieques Is. Blown the heck out of it many times. Once with the Iowa BB-61.

Forecast to be a Cat 3 when it impacts Florida, somewhere around Tampa.
DeSantis has already named 20 counties as being on the disaster list.
Most of Florida lying south of Orlando is on the list.
We are far enough north that impact on our area will be mainly rainfall, perhaps some tropical storm force winds.

Cold front came thru right at the change to Fall. Almost never happens. And I bet our hot weather ain't done yet. But the next 7-10 days look great. So good in fact, I'm gonna try and take a day off and go fishing next week. Talked to dad about it and he ain't stopped grinning yet.
