Still COLD!! Chance if flurries!!❄️ Big deal for my part of the world in November!
Saw a post from young man it was snowing in DFW and he was ready to get home to his county south of me. Of course this is always exciting for us to see as usually melts as hits warm ground. Last year was an eye opener with 8 inches that stuck for days. We have to shut down as we aren’t prepared or used to driving in that. No way to clear roads etc. somewhat concerning is the bumper crop of acorns this year. Persimmons have spoons inside and some caterpillars are mostly black. Old wives tales. 40 degrees here I think

Woke up to 12 degrees. It is up to 26 degrees now and should be around 42 degrees for a high today. I will wear one less layer than I did yesterday, only one pair of pants, and only shirt, jacket and polar fleece outer layer, leaving one fleece layer off.

Low 20s again early. About 50 right now. But a cold north wind blowing at between 5 and 10 mph
It was 50° when I got up. Then it started a slow rain and the temp has climbed up to 44° by now 😵‍💫gaah.
December in November = not fun!

29° right now at 8:15pm!! Get ready for thermometer pics in the morning!! I'm m thinking 18°, we'll see!! Woodstove has been rolling all day, house feels nice! Outside kitties have their heated mat in the insulated dog house they have been sharing. Buddy's shed is full of fluffy new wood shavings!! Let's go early spring!!😉😮

Yes, Pearl, the highs should ease upward as the cold snap slowly deteriorates, but our overnight temps here in 'South Central' New Mexico will remain below or at freezing through Thanksgiving Day, and possibly beyond. Meh, at least the daytime highs will creep up into the 50s and 60s, instead of this 40s BS. Possible bike ride this week, depends upon the weather and how fast it warms up on those 'warmer' days. Bike is clean & covered in its shed right now, so no worries, it can stay there for awhile if necessary (much as I'd like to ride it, lol). Looking forward to roasting that big ol' 23-lb. turkey on Thursday! I have plenty to be thankful for this year, starting with the fact that I still own my own home free & clear, as I have ever since I bailed outta Kalifornia. Meh, I'll save that for a Thanksgiving thread, looks like the weather will be fairly nice on Thursday, and that's all that matters to me, since I'll definitely be staying home with the "kids" on Thanksgiving Day.

Looked at the thermometer (which is suspect regarding its accuracy) on the front porch, and it said 20* F... our low last night or early this morning was supposed to be 23* F, so the thermometer is probably off, and it might even be frozen, lol. Supposed to warm up to double-nickel today (55* F), at least the sun is shining and adding some cheer!

46* F right now, with a forecast low of 25* F overnight, up from 23* F last night. I have been covering the young fruit trees & blackberry vine every night for about a week now, I don't intend to lose these young saplings or the vine to Old Man Winter, who has made an unexpectedly early appearance this year! The pepper plant is back in the mud room for the night, dunno whether it'll survive the winter but we'll see. I've been putting it out in the sun every day to try to keep it going... those first few freezing nights hit it hard, even with a plastic cover.

On a happier note, Wednesday may be my new target date for a bike ride: NOAA Weather forecast says it'll be clear & sunny with a high of 61* F, a little low but my riding suit will easily handle it, it's quite warm & toasty. Might hafta wear a "neck gaiter" under my helmet though, as it gets cold otherwise with that air rushing through the Darth Vader-like breather. I might also check to see if I have thicker gloves suitable for riding, as the vents in my usual gloves allow cold air in, though I have brush guards on the handlebars to help knock down the flow. We'll see how things pan out...
