Anchorage is usually pretty mild. We lived in Palmer for a number of years. And worked on the North Slope. My wife commuted to the NS until about a year or so ago. The covid BS rules made it difficult for her to fly up there any more, so she quit her job of almost 16 years.
I am on the Kenai Peninsula south of Anchorage, in a deep valley. I get more snow like Girdwood does, but it is generally three or four degrees warmer here then Anchorage.

That wind can really blow down on the Turnagain Arm near Girdwood. Same as in Palmer. Some people have to replace their house windows every few years from being sandblasted from the sand and dust blowing off the Knik flats.

Well, Nicole isn't very strong, but boy is she fat!
(remember, I watch 'fatness')
Everybody on the east side of Florida will feel the effects.
She's like that 400-pound woman sitting at the dinner-table that needs 2 plates:oops:.
Do we have any members out there?
(sorry, no screen-hog picture unless somebody wants to see)

We had a lot of rain yesterday and last night. The dirt and gravel left a mud patch at the bottom of our street due to the runoff so there was a good amount of rain. This morning it switched to snow and we have about 3 inches that is melting fast because the ground is still warm but snow patches on the ground should last a day or two. Apparently it was very windy last night, it blew down my wind rated flag pole. That's a first for me here. OK, just went out and looked, the new portion of the flag pole is fine but the bottom section was a piece from the old flag pole and it broke where the new section connected so I guess it is OK for the 25 year old piece to finally give way. I will be able to repair it, but it will be 4 feet shorter. =-(

Yet you wish you had the big gal!!😃

45/76 today. By tomorrow night we are expecting to start getting some rain off the outer bands of Nicole. Main body of the storm should stay in western NC. They are expecting 3-5" of rain. We expect between 1-2". We can use it for sure.
She's gonna leave muddy footprints all over the place, but little else.

I will plead guilty to 'entertaining' some "big-girls" in the past. ☹️
...a bit of a struggle, but worth the time.

Yeah hopefully thats all. Its been so dry up here and in NC, ground severly cracked open. Big concerns about flooding and mud slides. All the rain falling in 12-18 hours

https://www.cnn.com/us/live-news/hurricane-nicole-florida-updates-11-09-22/index.html

Nicole continues to track west at 13 mph and is 20 miles east-northeast of Freeport, Bahamas, and 100 miles west of Palm Beach, Florida.
Yes, that is an actual quote. ☹️
...now I feel obligated to watch it all night to see how long it takes for someone with a functioning brain to show up.

Yeah, I watched the changes in the 'cone' forecast and it is obvious that @Bacpacker and his friends bid pretty heavy on it .

Low 70s today and 42 this morning. Expect a touch of rain before midnight and mostly all day tomorrow
Nicole's 'glamour-shot' before she vanishes ☹️:
